Golden Banana Resort & Siem Reap, Cambodia

Forgot to mention our wonderful hotel and the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia. The "resort" is a wonderful boutique hotel tucked down a little side alley with a saltwater swimming pool surrounded by lil villas. Our villa has a set of stairs that goes up to a private balcony that overlooks the pool. There is a lounge area, outdoor shower, and stone bathtub. Yes, a stone bathtub OUTDOORS. Of course, Tammy checked it out last night with the bottle of bubble bath they provided and it checked out to her satisfaction. Hopefully, no one else was on their balconies because you're out there semi-exposed (a small "privacy" curtain is for more show than function) for anyone else on their balconies to see. Of note is the fantastic service of all the staff. They are very attentive and friendly. Rick loves their "uniforms" which are loose tank tops and Khmer pants with a large 'GB' flanked by a banana graphic on each side (for Golden Banana). Did I mention the GB logo was strategically placed on the upper inside thigh of the pant leg? Clever and racy.
The way people drive in Cambodia is certainly different than anything we've seen. For Siem Reap, there are no stop signs and maybe 3 stop lights in town. They drive on right side of road like America but there are no laws saying you must stay on your side of the road. With bicycles, tuk-tuks, motorcycles, scooters, carts, cows, etc using the slower side of the right lane, vehicles approach from behind, honk, the slower vehicles moves as much to right as possible and the vehicle that honked passes them on left (even if it's in the middle of the road or in oncoming traffic). It's a cluster of chaos.
