Now it is time to update everyone what has happened over the past 10 days.

First, Pete went to TWO trade shows, which he will update the blog about, so I had girls weekend at our place. Cali, Staci and I all came back to our apartment after Chinese Class on Friday afternoon to hang out for the evening. Cali and Staci didn't think they would survive the van ride back to our apartment since the school driver was driving very aggressive, like they all do in China. We have all learned to get in and get ready for the ride of your life.

We went out to dinner not far from our apartment had a few beers. Staci and Cali are both vegetarians so I also ate no meat for this meal. The look on the servers face for us 3 girls ordering beer was hilarious; American women do drink beer, Chinese women rarely if ever. After dinner we walked through the park for a Friday evening of families working out at the outdoor gym and of course the woman doing their version of line dancing.

Then we got some more beers at the little store at our front gate and went back to chat and watch movies. Well it was 1am before we knew it and we didn't watch a single movie. We just chatted all night long. Cali and Staci were excited cause this was their first night away from their significant others, Jimmy and Martin. They had a guys night out watching the new Star Trek movie on DVD and then got food poisoning YUCK!!!!

On Saturday morning we woke up and had breakfast at the little bread and coffee shop at our front gate. Gotta love having iced coffee for about 80 cents and a donut for 30 cents. PRO of China.... Then Cali decided she better head home to take care of Jimmy since he had the worst case of food poisoning. Such a great girlfriend.

Staci and I then headed to get our 90 minute massages for 55 kuai=$8. I am so thankful that this great place is just right around the corner from our apartment complex and it is so cheap and nice. At the end of the massage you can either have ginger or salt for the final massage part. Last time Pete and I went with the teachers I had salt and he had ginger, so this time Staci and I both tried the ginger. I had our contact teacher, Wilson, email the character for ginger so I could tell the non English speaking massage therapist what we wanted. It was great. They put mashed up ginger on your legs from your knew to your feet then wrap you in plastic and put towels on top(kind of like a paraffin wrap) The ginger got hot and tingly then they removed it from our legs, we were not to wash our legs for 2 hours due to the ginger treatment. Our legs were tingly for a few hours and it reminded us of the great massage.

We then had the leftovers from dinner for lunch then headed to Bao'an District, which is where Staci and Martin live only 2 stops from the airport. Staci was kind enough to help me carry Pete's backpack that he packed for our week vacation in Chengdu and Li Jiang. Since he was at the two trade shows he packed 2 backpacks and I brought the second one. We took a new bus route that neither of us had ever ridden but it worked out great. We got the airport express shuttle for 30 kuai=$4.39 and an hour later we were dropped of at their stop. This was our first time seeing each others apartments since living in China.

We both got to witness our first fight between a Senior 3 student and 5 or 6 other non students as we walked from the bus stop to their school, which is about 10-15 minute walk away. We didn't know what to do as it was Saturday afternoon around 4:15pm(Senior 3 students go 6 days a week to school) we of course were not going to break up any fight and get hit ourselves so we walked as fast as we could back to the school. I hope the kid was ok but he was a head taller than the other kids beating on him. We did see that the fight ended and there was no blood, so we aren't bad citizens just letting a fight happen.

Later that evening we went to the airport to find Pete as he took a high speed train from Guangzhou to Shenzhen, then a bus to the airport. I was nervous cause Pete's cell phone was low on battery and he had never done this bus route before. Staci and I were on the upper level of the bus terminal and Martin was on the lower level of the bus terminal at the airport and Martin found him. YEAH!!! Back to their school we went and got some more beers for the evening to chat then hit the sack. Our flight was at 7:55am on Sunday morning so it was an early morning to get up and catch the bus to the airport.

For those of you that know me well you know I LOVE wine, but I only mention beer in the blogs. Well beer is cheap in China and wine is not. Also the wine is not very good over here either, so I can't wait to go to Australia in Jan/Feb to drink great wine.
