We are excited for this week for Pete was told he doesn't have class on Thursday and he got his Friday class moved to Tuesday. He only has to teach 3 days this week, not too shabby. He will be going to a trade show in Hong Kong and a second one in Guangzhou. Keep your fingers crossed something will develop from these two visits.

We booked our second trip tonight and we fly out this Sunday to Chengdu, Sichuan province. We love the Sichuan cuisine here in Shenzhen so we are excited for the spicy food there. Yes it is where the massive earthquake shook China a couple years ago. It is also famous for the ONLY Giant Panda Breeding Research Base in China and we are going to hold Pandas. Then we are flying to Li Jiang where Tiger Leaping Gorge is at in the Yunnan Province. We will also tour Lugu Lake while we are in the Yunnan Province. Then we fly back to Shenzhen on Sunday October 25th. I love vacations in China, but we won't get another break I believe until one day off for Christmas, so we will enjoy this as much as possible.

The bad news today was that my SECOND bike got stolen, even with two locks on the bike, at the same location that my first bike was stolen. I was in disbelief, but Pete was PISSED at the thieves AGAIN. Oh well, I guess I am just not cut out for a bike in China. Some might think why did you park at the same place as your last bike was stolen but I don't have a choice since that is the bus stop we have to catch to get to the school. No THIRD bike for me.

No celebrating Columbus Day in China and we didn't prepare a lesson on it since the kids just had a week off and leave this Saturday for military training for a whole week, that is why we get next week off. I like our week better than our students upcoming week, so we are teaching a lesson on Michael Jackson. The kids loved it today and I can be assured the rest of the students will enjoy it since they LOVE him(thanks to a CTLC returner who shared the lesson) Who doesn't love I'll be There by the Jackson 5, Beat It and Smooth Criminal by Micheal Jackson? Those are the 3 songs in our lesson this week.

Michael Jackson
Who would know that you could use Michael Jackson songs to teach English - but it makes sense - he was known all around the world -
