Already my week on the Conquest has come to an end.

There was a second formal night, which meant another night out at the disco. Lots of crew were out that night. I spent the night chatting with friends and dancing. I stayed until the disco closed and security cleared everyone out - then I was at a friend’s cabin after.

My second last day we were in Cozumel. I was meant to go on a tour with Lonnel, but then she was on port manning and couldn’t get off the ship. I didn’t manage to locate another group of friends who were headed to a beach, so I just spent the day on my own. Went downtown to No Name Bar (the bar by former crew members for crew members) for some time on the internet. Skyped home. Laid in the sunshine. Swam in the pool. Drank my mango juice. Lovely.

And then it was already my last day on the ship. Such a crazy day. I had a sign off meeting to attend in the morning, then that afternoon had to write a safety test (always done your first week onboard - except this felt so silly when I’d be off the ship in only 15 more hours!). My first night here, when we were at Supper Club, I was talking about the gummi shooters that I love making and had promised I’d make some before I left. So that last night in the crew bar, I had a tray full of gummi shooters for everyone. Lots of photos, lots of goodbyes.

Up until a few days before I left home, the plan had been for me to be on the Conquest for 3 months. I can’t help but be a bit sentimental about the time I could have had here with all the friends here. The youth department here in awesome, the whole crew seems great. I would have loved it. But I’m doing what I’m told, waiting to get to the ship I really want to get to . . . so I’m off. Time to transfer to the Ecstasy.

It was fun while it lasted.
