I'm fairly settled into my new home, work and social life. Things are good, there is very little to complain over, sure it's flippin expensive in Europe, and my loan money is quickly dwindling, but I am working and that is really all that matters. Yesterday was semi productive, though memorable nonetheless. I finally got a bank account (after going all over town). Pablo and I did an intercambio at a pub near our home. I did my best to tell him why I was in Madrid and what I would I imagine for myself from here on out. He talked about his doubts regarding English and about the importance of the language in his field of work. I had to bolt soon though, I had plans to eat dinner with Izzy and Martin. We watched The Office as we ate, a show that I was aware of but didn't realize how silly and genius it is. I left their home before the metro closed and forgot about the dinner over my place. Pablo had invited his cousins that were visiting for dinner. I felt terrible. There was a place-setting for me and Dos x's was mentioned as the drink especially

purchased for me. How embarrassing. I was feeling a bit down, couldn't quite pinpoint the source, been feeling particularly lonely at times, it comes and goes.
I decided to drink. The table was encompassed in discussions that ranged from fútbol to the different dialects between the group. I spoke only when spoken to, my ability to contribute to the discussion was nonexistent, what could I say really? By my fourth drink I was feeling well enough to spill whatever came out, English, Spanish, whatever. I'm not certain whether I offended anyone, I don't think that was possible, I found out later Pablo was entertained.
Saturday was spent hungover, I hate that feeling especially since the weekends are where I tackle the residual work, such as domestic stuff (laundry, chores, grocery shopping) and of course homework. So I stayed in bed most of the day. My next blog will be about what occurred Saturday evening, into Sunday morning. What I wanted for this particular blog was to post a few pics of my home (friend and roommate pics to come) and to let anyone who reads this (yeah, I know it really isn't much) an opportunity to see where I've been living since the hostel situation.
