Hi all-

I Hope this post finds you all well and enjoying the coming autumn (or spring if you are down under!)

So its been ages since my last entry. So much for once a week. Since the last entry, Carla and her bloke Joao have visited, left, visted, left, visited and left once more! Was great to get to know Joao a bit and see Carla again. We shared a few too many beers, some curry, a couple of pub quizzes, some pool and basically have a fly-by all around catch up. I'll be back in London for her birthday-which luckily doesn't conflict with Thanksgiving this year - the dinner I hope to hold in London at my flat on the 28th of Nov. to mark my return home to the big smoke! (watch for the evite soon!!)

Carla's visit was really the last big hurrah before my work's go live, which was last Wednesday. I spent a week in Shanghai - where I did almost no sightseeing at all (though I had the best steak I've had since last leaving the US-and surprise of surprises, you can get a decent bottle of wine in China these days!) and then spent a few weeks basicaly just working too hard...until last Wed. hit it was our launch, and all went smoothly...until the first go-live celebration on Wed. night (drinks with the IT boys until 4AM), Thurs. (dinner with the business team), Friday (F1 Rocks - ZZ Top, N*E*R*D, Simple Minds, No Doubt), Saturday (F1 Qualifying with the best track view there is), Sunday (Singapore Grand Prix from trackside)....and then sleep...

yes it was nearly too much but what a way to mark the climax of these amazing 3 months (so far) in Singapore 😊

ZZ Top was amazing, by the way....not that it all wasn't, but it was pretty much unbeatable!

So now the fun continues, albeit of a more toned-down, cultural and mature type...whats next? Well, working my way up to a 20 November return flight to London...

mom arrives in a few hours actually. She and her friend Rose will be in the area for about 10 days. We are supposed to be going to Angkor Wat - though we have to watch the typhoon which is ravaging Vietnam - after leaving the Philippines a disaster area. Fingers crossed...

final work trip to Shanghai (with shopping side trip this time) before launching a month backpacking in Thailand...the final week of which I hope to meet up with Nick for a bit of luxury beach bumming!

Finally a last week of work in Singapore (will Damien and Melissa make it for a drink? hopefully!)

Then home...lots of photos still to take.

See everyone soon!!!
