The better of the 20 shots taken
The same day after returning from Macau (and hosing myself down) I decided that if I'm going to be able to check out Victoria Peak, I had better do it now.

There was a thunderstorm that evening, and after it cleared up, I headed out with tripod and camera in hand to take award winning (heh heh) shots of the city while on the peak.

Even though it had rained heavily and it was past 9pm, intense humidity still hung in the air. The ground was still wet, but at least it had cleared up enough that I could still get decent pics.
Made my way to Central Station, and walked uphill to the Peak Tram Terminus. I obviously was not the only one trying to outrun Typhoon Koppu- the tram was quite crowded.

Going up to the peak while on the tram is quite an experience. All the apartment buildings seem to be on a slant. Yeah, I know it is prestigous to live on the peak, but not me. I can't imagine being in one of those apartments if an earthquake or intense typhoon hit. I'll stay below with the rest of the plebs, thank you very much.

Even though the night wasn't clear due to the storm, the view from the peak was still quite beautiful. I must have spent at least one hour trying to get a decent shot with the tripod, but eventually I gave up; I bumped up the ISO to at least 500, and propped the camera atop the glass barrier until I got a shot I could live with.

After coming down, I tried to find the Central MTR station, but got lost (again). There was a good side to this. The night had cooled down considerably, and night shooting was more effective at ground level than at the peak.

To top of a decent night, I went to a late night sushi shop near Causeway Bay MTR. The manager was a bitch, but the lady who served me was cool. The sushi was great, too.

Great Photos!
Beautiful night photos of Hong Kong from the Peak! Sounds like you're having a great time, despite the humidity. Hopefully a/c is easy to find....

The humidity has dropped - Thank God!!
One of the good sides to the Typhoon is that the humidity has dropped. It was horrendous. Luckily, I have air conditioning in my room.
