Oh my, where do we start!!

It's been 11 days here, we're covered so much ground and seen so much stuff already and it's all been incredible. Even the train from Panaji in Goa to Kerala with the rats under our seat. All good!

It wasnt until we left Mumbai that we realised how hectic it was. The cultural shock wasnt as massive as we through it would be but thats because we're both hard-core seasoned travellers......ha

Tom dived into the haggling as soon as we arrived by getting the exchange rate up even at the airport FX counter. It took him a couple of days to get over the gut rot that he picked up at the kebab shop in Guildford and since then we've committed ourselves as serious street food addicts. We're both stuffed for about 2 quid each day. The Indian sweets have also been hit hard. Milk Burfi and Mini Jamun are our favs and we're kind of trying them everywhere.

We've come south to Goa but the wet season is still around so we skipped the beaches and went to Panaji, again, great street food and beautiful Portugese style buildings. The pace was much slower. We then ventured further south to Kerela, the home of Ayurveyda and lush Wildlife parks. We're now in the mountains of Tamil Nadu in a town called Ooty. We took a toy steam train here which chugged up the hillside over 5 hours. Waterfalls, tea plantations, the lot! Theres a fabuluous fresh food market and we love it here but we're leaving tomorrow to visit one of the wildlife parks where we're told we may catch a glimpse of wild elephants and byson. We'll start heading north again soon and will check out other parts of Kerala and Goa on the way.

I never thought I'd say this but I wish I didnt throw my Tevas away after summer camp. They're so damn ugly but would be so useful here. My gold jesus sandals from Wanted just aren't cutting it. After Tom's dodgy tummy the only other stroke of illness has been my mozzie bites which clocked in at 56 last week. I'm covered up like a proper muslim wife now and the deet is getting a work out.
We'll be in touch soon!
Having a awesome time!
Cheesybear,
Tom and VV

Looks like you guys are having an aMAYzing time! Good to see you getting stuck into the food, culture etc. I absolutely HATE when mozzies attack. Here's a tip, Tonic Water has something in it they dislike, a secret repelling power, so try track some down and guzzle a can a day. Love you juice stand friend but where are his shoes? Perhaps you could have traded you Wanted sandals for his. I am sure they would have been much more suited to your needs. Looking forward to more updates. All good here, patiently waiting for you to return. Xx
