ROLLER DERBY

There is something unbelievably fun about girls roller skating round in circles trying to knock eachother over and then at the end of it having a big party to celebrate together a win or a loss.

It helps when one of the girls is your mates girlfriends so you dont seem like too much of a obsessed crazed fan.

Needless to say we had a blast at the bout and also down town after when collectively the men and women in pink skirts took over the dance floors across town.

Oh what fun we had!

Roller derby for starters - The pack of skaters consisting of the same number of players from each team cruise around as a pack funnily enough and each team has one lead jammer (star on helmet) and the lead jammer has to get through and lap the pack before the other teams lead jammer does. The more you do it the more points you get. The lead jammer gets subbed in and out about every 2 mins of soo. The pack tries to slow down the lead jammer by bumping them off the track or onto the floor. No pushing or grabbing, its like football only shoulder to shoulder. Two halfs 30 mins each in duration.
