He had just been there that morning!
The past 3 days have been wonderful for bicycling, so we are taking advantage of this. The colder, cloudy and sometimes rainy weather is to return tomorrow.

On Valentine's Day we went to Austin. The visitor's center sent us to a bicycle shop to get better information than they had. So here we were at the bike shop Lance Armstrong frequents in Austin, his home town. In fact he had just been there earlier in the morning! And the day before he blasted past a friend of the guy in the bike shop on the roads in the hill country. He had also "stolen" the bike shops mechanic for his own. At the shop, as we came back from our ride, a fellow who looked like Lance, pulled his black sports car back so we could pass in front of him. Jim said it couldn't have been Lance because it was a Miata, and Lance has too much money to drive a Miata. Even though we are on opposite ends of the bicycling spectrum, Lance is my hero, because we are both "Survivors".

On Tuesday we rode a local road to New Braunfels. The road was rough, with long

gradual hills and wind that really gave us a workout. But by taking a shortcut we ended up in Gruene instead of New Braunfels, and had lunch at the Gristmill again.
Today, Wed., Jim is off riding the local roads (I do not like the farm dogs) while I do some watercolors here at the cabin. It is supposed to be the last nice day for awhile. That means temps in the 50's and 60 's instead of near 80.
