Here We Go Again

So here we are, the night before I leave on my four month journey around the world. Wow, I can't believe it is finally here. Packing went fairly smoothly (not too much fighting with Mom), although some of my small extras had to go to Jeremy's house to be packed by him. More than anything I am interested to see if my bags are under the 50 pound weight limit, normally one of my two when I travel is over by a few pounds. Also, don't forget how much I am going to have to pay to check my luggage; when I just came home from Cape Cod, I paid $40 for my two bags on Delta, so we will see how much it will be on Continental. I feel a little less prepared for this trip than I felt for Mexico, but hopefully everything will be fine. I should be a professional packer/traveler at this point, so I should just trust that I know what I am doing.

I was trying to think of a topic or a least a way to focus this blog and compare all the countries along the way, but I haven't been inspired by anything yet; maybe I will be inspired when I finally get somewhere. If you all have any ideas or things you want me to discuss as I make my way around, let me know and I will focus on specific things. I, of course, will be commenting on all the ice creams I can find. I extremely excited for Vietnam because Lonely Planet has a whole section on good ice cream places!

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you all my itinerary. Tomorrow I fly to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The day after that, I board the ship for a departure around 5 p.m. My first port is Cadiz, Spain, followed by Casablanca, Morocco, then Accra, Ghana, down to Cape Town, South Africa, around to Port Louis, Mauritius and Chennai, India, then on to Ho Chi Mihn City, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Shanghai, China, Yokohama and Osaka, Japan, and finally to Honolulu and Hilo, Hawaii, and then to San Diego, California, where we will disembark and fly to Florida. Anyways I hope you will all enjoy following my adventures, I will miss you all, but I'll be having the time of my life, so hasta luego!!!
