Edit Blog Post

Tomorrow is the beginning of my trip. Same drill as last time, I set up this travel blog to share the stories and thoughts on the road. Barring any government sanctions, I will try to share a few paragraphs when something interesting comes along. Of course, if/when the periodic rant becomes annoying, no hurt feelings if you press delete after reading the subject headings. Here is the intro paragraph.

In a few short months, I will follow the herd and migrate back to the work jungle. The past two years in business school have been well spent viewing the world through different lenses. Yet, the experience can be at times seen out of touch with reality, as we were insulated in different bubbles. I had some time to reflect after graduation, and I realized that perhaps everyone is a bit out of touch with reality. The weekly routine of morning world news, lunchtime work exchanges, and evening family matters is welcomed by the routine weekend getaways. How much time is spent learning our surrounding and its impact on ourselves? This is what the next 75 days will be, round the world in nine different countries, some disliked, some rarely heard of, and some misunderstood (here is a snapshot of the locations: The World Trip Map). I would love to hear your thoughts.

See y’all on the other side.

Ming

Well said...
...it seems that the realities that most of us have constructed for ourselves are filled with way too many superficial (and consequently marginally meaningful) pursuits - ostensibly we all know (and loathe) this, but I think the inertia is too hard to overcome for nearly all of us - glad you are going against the grain. Wishing you all the best, good times, and safe travels out there! Who knows, maybe I'll pull a last minute audible and join you for some part of the trip. Make sure to take care of you know who in Macau - that kid gets crazy around that stuff!! Catch you later... B
