Hi, everyone,
In case you're wondering about the title, today really did seem like the first day of our trip since it was new to us! Even though we had fun in Las Vegas for a couple of days, it wasn't exactly new & different. However, we did enjoy a show by the group "Human Nature" again as much as we did the first time. Four white boys from Sydney Australia who do Motown with both the do-wop harmonies and choreography.
We saw some spectacular and rugged scenery in the Virgin River Gorge in Nevada. Tom had me snapping pics through the car window, so if they're not up to his usual standards, that's why.
With the time change, going from Pacific to Mountain time, we lost an hour and arrived in Salt Lake City around 2 pm. It was 102 degrees here! We enjoyed walking around Temple Square downtown, seeing both the Mormon Temple and the Tabernacle. We even got to hear that magnificent pipe organ being played in the latter, which was pretty cool. About 4 pm we drove to Ruth's Diner for an early dinner. This restaurant is 79 years old, and one of Tom's
heros Guy Fieri on the Food Network featured it on one of his shows. The food was great, even if it was too late in the day for their famous "mile-high" biscuits. It's probably a good thing that we got to our hotel early in the evening, because between downloading pictures, doing laundry (it's free, and as you've often heard Tom say, "free is good!"), and writing this, we've been pretty busy. Got to get to bed early, as we've got a long, but hopefully beautiful, day's drive tomorrow. Until then, Tom & Nancy

funny
Dear Tom and Nancy: How nice that we can live vicariously through the both of you on this trip! And, the comment of Nancy's about the snapping of pics while the car is in motion is hilarious as they may "not be up to Tom's standards" - that is so funny because I can just imagine Tom saying "take pictures, Nancy"!!! It makes me laugh. And that is so neat that you went to one of Guy Fieri's named restaurants. Jeff and I have been watching his show! Tamara.
