Today we made the last stretch of New Mexico, in Gallup we stopped to check out about the Navajo Code Talkers from 2nd WW but we forgot it is Sunday .... closed...
The sun followed us into Arizona and you might think it is hot hot but no it is actually ok the only thing is as soon as you step out into the sun it hits you and your skin feels like it's burning .... so don't forget the sun screen.
We drove through the Petrified Forest National Park, very impressive views (painted Desert) and scenery. Due to the climatic changes and conditions, the wood petrified and cristallised so what you see was a tree but is now a semi-precious stone. After the National Park we stopped at the meteor crater but hey they wanted 15 bucks to go and see a hole in the earth !?! so we moved on and made an early stop in Williams for the night. As I will get on a helicopter tour to see the Grand Canyon tomorrow.
The most impressive view for me today was coming from the meteor region (desert, wide plane to the surroundings of Flagstaff and
the entrance to the Grand Canyon (pine forest, hills).
