My first big city of the tour....

The first evening we went for a BBQ at a friend of Norma's from back home. Deidre. Traveling a few years ago she met a Aussie bloke and the rest is history! Really nice place but no one there to cook the Snaggers! So i got the opportunity to cook on an Aussie's BBQ, luckily we left before he got back from the footie otherwise i prob wouldn't be here! Touching an Aussies BBQ?? you may as well sleep with his wife!

The food was good and the company was great, i even managed to keep up with a bit of the conversation, Deidre's dad Gerry had the strongest west cork accent I've ever heard! A really funny guy when you can keep up with the stories though.

The next day we took a drive out to the shopping center, getting cold now need some winter gear. Spent the afternoon wandering around, window shopping due to the lack of my current weekly wage of $0 and trying some salt n vinegar popcorn- they got some weird stuff over here!

That evening we took a stroll into Brisbane city had some dinner and then headed back home for a quiet night in. I think we all felt we were due one by now.

So most people reading this are probably thinking "oh my god, you didn't go here or you didn't go there. You didn't actually do anything" but to be honest Brisbane for me will be remembered for cooking a bbq and eating some weird popcorn.

bye for now.

Wahey Whitmore!
Great Ben, sounds like a time to put your feet up and just take it all in. Salt and Vinegar Popcorn, I found sugar coated cheesy puffs, we know nothing about the world I tell ya! I got back from Russia yesterday, bicycle is in need of being scrapped - I have abused the beast. I asked my host in St Petersburg for a pair of socks, she said "You are the second englishman to ask!" so I replied "In England, it is a long standing tradition to ask for a pair of socks, when entering someone's home". How we laughed, when meeting more english to ask if they would like socks.
