I just came out of a lecture on Orthodox Christian Relics- the practice of placing bones of a Saint in a crypt under the altar in the church. Our site had such a crypt and three boxes for relics were recovered. Vassil is an expert on Christianity and gave a brilliant lecture today. I have been bombarding him with questions. I learned a great deal about the Orthodox Christian church during my stay here, they have interesting and mystical traditions that I find fascinating and I plan to do much more research and reading on the subject.

The Bulgarians all have nicknames. If a Bulgarian considers you a friend, they will call you by your nickname. Antonia is actually a fairly popular name here in Bulgaria and today the director of the site called me Toni. I was thrilled! haha.

Hey Tonia, Your day sounded so interesting, wow this is truly meant for you. What does the sunset look like over the Black Sea? Is the sand soft or rocky? What do they serve for breakfast? I cannot wait to hear about everything!
