18/7/09 WE are off to Daly Waters Pub today, heard mixed reviews on it , so will make up our own mind. We went through Renner Springs & had a cuppa at Elliot & heard that there had been two vans that had collided just past Renner Springs, no one hurt so that was lucky , but one car turned over & was on its roof, We pushed on & arrived at Daly Waters Pub just after lunch. We loved it , so we decided to stay, $20 for a powered site. The atmosphere was great, bra’s, nickers, hats & all sorts of things hanging off the ceiling & walls . We booked in for a Beef & Barra Tea at 7pm, a real treat . In the avo we had a couple of drinks & we had a rest & Den was have-a-chat with the people next door, got ready & went for tea. It was really nice & we got talking to two couples that had driven 3000 k’s in three days, there was a guy entertaining us & he did a great job. Well bed was called for & we rolled home. A great night had by all ( sorry Marg & Warwick ) We did 300 km’s today

19/7/09 Started off from Daly Waters & on the way out we visited the WW 2 Aircraft Hanger & Airfield. It was interesting. We got Gas & went through Larrimah & arrived at Mataranka Springs & booked into Riverside Caravan Park ( $25 a night )near Bitter Springs, this park was recommended to us & it is very nice. $25 a night & 5 mins walk to Bitter Springs. The Springs are probably 30 deg & so nice & clear, they water is bluey, green & the current takes you down stream & we were floating on “Swimming Noodles “ chatting to people & it was very relaxing. We walked home & a lady that we had met a few times approached me for a hair cut, So I made my first $10 for the trip. I gave Den another hair cur a number 2 this time & we bought a set of proper clippers. I am getting better with the hair cuts. Den went off to show a guy a few things in his van & I made a few calls, & then went looking for have-a-chat. I found him & then came back & prepared tea & spent the night posting the blog & emailing. Its now time for bed, we are off to Katherine tomorrow & hope to put the Kayak in tomorrow & we have to watch out for fresh water crocs !!!!! We did 170 km’s today .

20/7/09 We packed up & decided to go & see the Mataranka Springs & Homestead Caravan Park. It was very nice, but the springs are more man made & not as natural , but picturesque none the less. We hit the road & got to Katherine at lunchtime & booked in to the Riverview Caravan Park, the only one that takes dogs. Had some lunch & decided to go & book into some tours & book the dogs into Day Care as it is so hot, 32 deg . We booked in for a helicopter ride to do the 13 Gorges for $115 each at 10 am the next day & a cruise to do 3 Gorges as well ( $75 each ). We got back to the van & as it was so hot we clipped & bathed the girls & got tea. Den caught up with banking & I had an early night. We slept with the air conditioning on as it was so hot. 104 km today. 31 deg today.

Oh and the springs are great but my blonde roots came through and I went to go in where the crocs were lol. Hope you had a feed there. But anyhow gud to see you are taking a good path up and getting to see the sites. Lov you all Kirsty and Riley
