Well i am writing to you on my 3rd day in Sydney and i can say it has been all good but very tiring!!!!

Anyway here is how our last few days went in wonderful Mellbourne. Last sunday we visited Werribe Zoo which Helen took us to with Rob which was about a half hour journey by car. It was more of an african zoo than an Australian zoo to be honest but it was still highly enjoyable. While we were there we took the Safari tour around the park which was really good we got a chance to drive past all the animals and get right up close to all of them which was a great experience. After we completed the Safari we set off to the otherside of the park to see the lions, we waited there for a while but they were being unactive and too far away to get a decent photo then just as we were about to give up it was luckily feeding time so they decided to get moving and active and gave me a chance to come really close to them and take some wonderful pictres. After that we walked around the rest of the parks seeing some monkeys, cheetahs, and Kangaroos so ovevall it was a gd day out and a very hot one at that weather forcast was 23 and it ending up being 31 hot!!!

On monday we had one last epic tennis session before we left melbourne as we thought it might be tougher to get access to such brilliant facilities as the trip went on. We booked the court from 12-1 and we ended up finishing playing at 4 in the afternoon in the baking sunshine half way through i got really hot and took the t shirt i was wearing and put on my Aussie rules shirt and of course i hadnt put suncream on my shoulders and they got absolutley roasted.I struggled to sleep the few nights after because they were so saw. One moment to highlight was Giles Tennis Tantrums because Giles was tennis UWB he didnt really ever win so it cant of been fun and he kept getting madder and madder and finally blew it when he was 2-0 up with 2 match points and i came back and won and he threw a sid-esque wobbler!! slammed the racket against the fence chucked the balls everywhere swear words echoing for miles he sure was enraged, luckily he calmed down after a while and took UWB status with some pride left.

Then it came to our last day in Melbourne a sad day in many ways but also exciting in others. I was quite dissapointed at the fact we had to leave the family as i had been getting on really well with Becky and Rob as time went on and Hannah when she was around it was sad to think that we were not going to see them for a long long time (Well till the Ashes if me and Giles get tickets) The family as a whole had been brilliant to us and really helped us get through our first month with relative ease. Melbourne as a place is amazing, quite similar to England in many respects but of course weather is up another 20 notches and there is a bit more of a buzz about it. Everyone is really friendly and from the few days i have spent in Sydney, Melbourne is certainly very relaxed in comparison!! The livable city for sure!!

Our last day was spent mostley packing clearing up and making final preperations. Then it was sadly time to leave Melbourne. Hannah left for work at 6 so we said goodbye to her beforehand and unfortunatly Tony had a meeting on at the time we were leaving but we still stopped by the hospital to say our thankyou's and goodbyes to him quickly. Then off to the Greyhound station where we took some pictures and said our goodbyes to Helen, Becky and Rob before we got on the epic trip to Sydney. The coach was comfatable which was good i made a school boy error by wearing shorts, t-shirt and flip flops but i was expecting the most powerful air conditioning in the world. The bus driver started cracking lame jokes from the off and i could tell the 12 hour trip was going to feel like a lifetime. He couldnt find a video which was lame so we had to listen to some awful radio channel for a while then he changed it to the news for the next 3 hours i would have been able to get some sleep if it was not so loud!!! i had my ipod in my ears trying to overpower it but it was just too loud so i didnt end up getting sleep for the first half of the journey. Then we got to Canberra at 4am in the morning and changed drivers and the radio went off to everyones relief and we were able to get some much needed sleep about 4 hours over the whole journey i would say ok for a coach journey. Then we arrived in Sydney at bout 8.30 in the morning and on the outskirts of the City and it was tipping it down!! Was thinking brilliant what a start!! But luckily the further the bus went and the nearer we got to out destination the better the weather got and by the time we arrived it was sunny above. We got off at the Greyhound stop which was right next to Central Station then we walked the short 300m till we reached our hostel in which we were staying called WakeUp.

First impressions were all gd modern clean tidy smart all of the things we expected before arrival. We checked in and the staff were really friendly and gave us our keycards before we headed off to our rooms before the nervous moment of opening our door to see who we were stuck with!! We walked in and only one girl was in there and here name being emma who was english but who has been living in korea last 5 years. We later found out we had multil nations in our room 2 lanky sweeds 1 male 1 female 1 japanese girl 1 danish girl 1 german guy now left 1 japanese guy now left 2 more enlgish girls arrived today and 2 other girls who were quite fit but we never really got to meet who left early doors this morning shame!! Anyway after that we headed off into the City to explore we walked to the harbour which took us about half an hour and were struck with the most beautiful views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House a photographers dream as they are both stunning to look at!!! As you can see from my pictures.

Sydney on first impressions was good everything was a bit more hectic and the air was not as clean as melbourne either and a lot more high rise buildings but it all looked gd and i can tell it is going to be a good 3 weeks here. Unfortunatly Giles has picked up an ear infection so he is limited to the things he and us can do so he did not want to take any risks with following me and harry down to the bar on the basement of the hostel later that night. The bar was obviously quite popular as people outside the hostel had come in to visit. There was a live band and a DJ after they finshed there 2 sets. The drinks were realtivly cheap as well seeing we were right in the middle of the city centre!! At about 1.30 the tiredness of the coach journey and the long day finally caught up with us so we decided to head upstairs to catch up on some sleep. The next day we spent sitting around and planning out our time in sydney. We came up with loads of things we all wanted to do and see and should have some pretty busy days ahead of us.

Yesterday which was friday for us we decided to go and see the SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground) and watch a match between New South Wales and Western Australia the weather was absolotuley boiling so we decided to go and sit in the shade i went and found some seats but then giles sat down about 20 along to the right and i could not be bothered to move for a while so i stayed there i took a few glances over my shoulder to see who else had come to watch then i caught a glimpse of someone i recognised i turned around again and to my disbelief it was Chris Tremlett Hampshire and England Cricket player Dimi Mascharanas one of my fav players and there lurker mate who we think is a physio or something couldnt believe it so i walked back over to Giles and Harry and told them who i saw. Then i spent bout 20 min plucking up the courage to ask them if i could take a picture. Finally i did because i only would hae regretted it if i had not and they were all really friendly which was nice. We were at the cricket till bout 4.30 when W.A wrapped up victory so then we walked back to the hostel then watched neighbours then off to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House to get some good pictures at sunset unfortunatly i didnt walk quick enough and just missed best time to get some but we will have plenty more oppertunities. We spent few hours wandering around and amiring the views and i have got to say this is a view everyone has to see once in there lifetime and your missing out if you dont. One of the greatest sights in the world. Simply magnificent!!!!!!!

Other than that we have been eating well lets say not a lot. We have gone into economy saving mode where we are buying the cheapest pasta the cheapest bread and pretty much the cheapest everything in order we save money so we can do other stuff along the way.

Tonight its the Sweedish Party down at the hostel everyone is quite hyped about it so should be good me and harry are gonna go all out with the face painted flag the lot and a 2 hour happy hour so its all gd should be a gd night and ill let u know how we get on.

Sydney so far has been great and is a wonderful place and im looking forward to spending the next 3 and a half weeks here.

Hope everyone is ok and doing well. All views on the travelblog are welcome if u wanna email me u know the address.

All my love
