oh yum yum, this was sooo good. I had this at Paradise Restaurant right on the deck overlooking the snorkelling, shopping, cruise ships....

The last days in paradise.

Shopping anyone? Perfumeries for my scent of the day and I got my MAC makeup ...happy dance! I finally get my turtle burger and it is worth the wait.

I move to D's house in George Town as we have left 7 Mile Beach for good. It's a beautiful house with roosters that roam the neighborhood and wake me in the morning...

Everyday is the same beautiful weather... This cold knocked some energy out of me so I passed up the opportunity to head back to Senor Frogs. I can still enjoy the weather. I'm still on vacation, so I watch movies and hang by the pool in the backyard. We did do a little more shopping. There was a little glass blowing shop by the water and an art studio that I got to check out. Would have loved to have bought some of the watercolors...oh well, next time 😊

I found him trying to sneak past me…. He was kind of shy, but hung out with me all afternoon. I’d think he was gone but he’d reappear after a couple of minutes to stare at me… Don’t know where the roosters went, but they’re quiet today. Very few stray cats or dogs here and fewer pets from what I can tell.

Today is day 11, and I start heading home …going to need to use my foot to pack my bags again … I’d go outside for a quick dip in the pool but I don’t know how to deactivate the alarm and I don’t need the cops showing up . At lunch time D is coming to get me to bring me to the airport and then I hopscotch across the US and into Canada. If all goes well, I should be home by noonish Tuesday. I’m ready to go home now.

I’ve enjoyed my Christmas vacation, experiencing it in another country was a very cool thing to do. CI is just amazing, every day is the same beautiful weather. No wondering what the weather will be like or planning around it. Time to pack away the bathing suits, tank tops & shorts I’ve lived in since arriving. No more barefoot living… back to sweaters & a cold bed every night. But also back to my family & friends, thanks for sharing this with me 😊

a hot pastry for a snack, mine was with beef but you could also choose chicken.

My sun & sand vacation is done… I know what the next one will be and it will be totally different.

most of the stores sell these rum cakes and there are lots of places that will let you taste them. Lots of flavours but I liked Key Lime the best.

A Grand Cayman success story. This is their location in George Town where they make (and sell of course) the rum cakes. Of course there is also the rum.

I bought one of those while wandering around Georgetown... I stopped in a random little store, and they had them near the door. I gotta say, I thought I'd never find out what they were called... but somehow I remembered tonight, and I can't wait to try another :D -Dan from Boston
