Yes you guessed it we couldn't resist the place.....we found a cheap flight and now we are back in India!
We decided to go as north as we could to a place called Leh in Ladakh, it is right in the Himalayas (again) its beauty is absolutely breathtaking, as you will see on the photos. Helen thinks its what heaven should look like, its her favourite place so far and its definately one of mine too.
First we had to get to Manali then we had to get to Leh. We discovered that the only way is by shared jeep or mini bus. We were told that if we pay and extra 100 rupees each as it was a 20 hour journey,we would get the daddy seats with lots of leg room so we went for it! When the so called minibus picked us up at 2am in the morning we were bitterly dissapointed when a packed out jeep arrived with 9 other people in it and there was no special seats for us!! we ended up sat in the front next to the driver....the two of us on one seat!!! now we know we are bigg (ish) girls
but there was absolutely no bloody room....and to top it all off the one next to the driver had to put up with being shafted by the gear stick the whole way!!! IT WAS HELL!!!!! Because we were heading up and up higher and higher on the second most dangerous road in the world we got a bit of the old altitude sickness and headaches just to make the hellish journey even worse!!! The only saving grace was the views we had, they were worth the journey even though by the end we were both cursing out loud!!!!
We arrived at 10pm that night in not such pleasant moods but after a nights kip we really appreciated were we had got to.....heaven!!!
We have now been here for 8 nights and since we have been here we took a trip to Pangong Lake which was lovely and we also went and visited the monestries in the mountains. Yesterday we attempted to 'trek' and go find a place to sit and admire the views with a picnic....well as usual it never turned out quite as we wanted as we ended up by a dirty river which was the local
Pangong Lake
Beautiful skies car washing site and we were chased away with our pack lunches by donkeys cows and dogs!!!! then we had to walk for hours on the desert road to catch a bus packed with locals!!! it certainly was an experience. (we manged to scoff down a cheese sandwich just out of principle before the animals sniffed us out!)
We are catching a flight back to Delhi (never again will we do that jeep journey)and will really miss it here. Then next week we are back to Thailand.
Love and miss you all heaps, keep leaving us messages on here they are lovely to read.

Heaven, you're in heaven
What a place!! You are clearly having a magnificent time, if you are wondering what the view is like form my office - don't it is grey and chucking it down and very miserable. Miss you loads and you are in my thoughts every day - take care of yourselves girls. P.s - we have found a couple to rent our house so we may be upping sticks and moving down to Wales very soon. A much needed new begining. Just like the meaning of life poster in your pictures says i am on the quest for something more useful to the world that leaves me feeling fulfilled. x Take it easy x
