On the road again.....having been woken up early in our dormroom because another traveller had been locked out of his room, Brim and I got up and walked to the bus station in Paraty for our bus to Sao Paulo. After the obligatory stickers on bag procedure we boarded the coach and located our seats. The bus was pretty nice and again loads of leg room 😊 6 hours seemed to fly by particularly because of the Richard Gere offering on the TV screen and headsets to listen to various radio stations. One of which was playing English music! Outside the window the Brasilian countryside whisked past us and we arrived in Sao Paulo. The skyline even from the bus was impressive and daunting. At the bus station we saw signs for platforms 89, 90 etc! So, armed with our phrase book and a better understanding of purchasing tickets we paid for our tickets to Foz. Unfortunately the next bus was 4 hours away and as neither myself or Brim felt brave enough to tackle Sao Paulo with rucksacks etc., we stayed in the terminal, played cards, read and watched the world go by.
8pm arrived and we boarded our
Sao Paulo main bus station
Just a 4 hour wait then :) bus to Foz De Iguazu. This coach was ok but there was not as much leg room despite a longer journey ahead of us. As it was late, the lights of Sao Paulo were impressive even when the bus driver seemed to slam on the breaks and stop every 30 minutes! Finally out of Sao Paulo Brim and I got some sleep despite the snoring (not from me!) and occasional stops. 15 hours on the bus however is a long time and when we finally arrived in Foz De Iguazu I was shattered!
Next update, arrival in Foz, 3 more buses and the waterfalls 😊
