My room!! - notice the pictures of pendle hill and Jimmy Hendrix! Hello!
I've made it to New Zealand and I love it! I knew that I would before I even got here and when the plane was landing in the airport the view looked just like home - lots of green fields! The views everywhere are stunning, so much so that it doesn't look real, it just looks like a painting.
Catherine picked me up from the airport in Christchurch, I was so excited about seeing her again and when I came through arrivals and she was waiting for me it was the most amazing feeling. I loved it and so did she, we had a big hug and it was a bit emotional then we went off to get the bus to her & Adams little house. She had sorted a room out for me, emptied all the drawers so I could unpack and even put up a picture of Pendle Hill & Jimmy Hendrix! I felt well at home! Just having my own room was really good and she has her own washer and dryer so I did all my washing and then the best part of it all was after three and a half months of showers

Caths kitchen I finally got to have a bath!
I absolutely loved staying with Cath & Adam, they made me really welcome and I enjoyed just chilling out, watching TV, reading my book and going for little walks. Their house backs onto the estuary and the beach in South Shore in Christchurch and the views from the beach of snowcapped mountains in the distance are amazing. They have got a lovley, cozy little house and they are really happy together here. Within five minuites of seeing Cath at the airport it was just like she'd never been away, nothing has changed apart from her accent a bit and she is a lot more independant these days, I think that this move has been really good for both of them. They have made lots of friends in the area and I went to the pub with them a couple of times and met them all, they were such nice people, really friendly and there was a lovley lady called Julie who just loves England! She wears a Liverpool jacket, sings Rule Britannia on the karioke and especially loves Lancashire as she went a few years back so we really got on. Another

The living room couple who were there said that the week I get back to Christchurch from travelling round the islands they would have a little party at their house and a few drinks. It just seems that people over here will go out of their way to help you which is really nice. They have all helped Cat & Adam out lots and Julie cleans out camper vans in the summer season and it always bringing people washing up liquid and allsorts of things that have been left in the vans. It is a really nice little community.
On Wednesday night we went off to the Karioke and it was really good fun. Anyone that knows Catherine will know that she loves the karioke and I don't do too badly myself but being around lots of new people I was feeling a bit nervous about getting up and me and Catherine always do a bit of Meatloaf together so I had to have quite a few wines to get going. The only problem was once I got going I couldn't stop and we hogged the kariokie all night. We had a really good time and Julie was buying us all shots

Cath pegging the washing out of baby guiness which is Tia Maria and Baileys. By the end of the night me and Adam were both a bit worse for wear and we had to get the bus back home - it's only ten minuites walk but the buses come all the time. I made Catherine take my photo with the nice friendly bus driver and apparantly we had won the karioke prize, which was 50$ behind the bar. I didn't remember anything about it and the day after I was too rough to go and spend it but I think we are going to use it when I get back. It was one of the best nights out, if not the best night out I've had on my trip so far.
The other thing I like round here is that it so quiet. There are six million people living in New Zealand and five million of them live on the North Island, which is roughly the same size as the South island. When you go outside it's just silence and I love it! There is no traffic, no stress and nobody cares what they wear as long as it's warm and comfy. It is

If you look closely you can see the snowcapped mountains in the background - this is just round the back of the house such a good lifestyle and I am the calmest and happiest I have ever been. If you want noise and busyness then you just get on the bus and go to the city centre. It's not even that busy there but there are some good clubs and stuff. There is a blues club, a jazz den & a comedy club that I want to go to when I go back. The city is nice and it's easy to get around. There is a massive chess game in the middle of Cathedral Square that people hang around and play, lots of street performers and an old tram that takes you round anywhere you want to go. I will go and see more of it when I go back there. I didn't do much this time as I just wanted to relax and not do much.
I've booked the Magic bus to go around both islands and when I get up to Auckland I think I am going to stay with a relative of my brother in law who sounds like good fun so i am looking forward to that. I can't wait to see more of New Zealand. I'm looking

On the pier in New Brighton forward to lots of walking, seeing the glaciers and I am really looking forward to staying in a town called "Nelson" that is supposed to be really good. I will try and keep up with my blogs and pictures on the way round for everyone.
Hope everyone is ok, miss you all

Catherine.
How lovely to see Cath again, her house looks nice. But you all look a bit cold. We can see how happy you all are. Good photo's. Love Mum.
