Wow! Let's just say, "It's about friggin' time!" I can't pin-point the exact reason I haven't finalized our Asia breakdown, other than the harsh bitch slap back into reality of being gone for over a month, returning to of course "all hell breaking loose". I swear, you would think the world was going to come to an end when pallet after pallet of seasonal goods are delivered and the under-thanked, over-brutilized rep is on vacation and god forbid...whose gonna merchandise my garden decor? It's almost as if they couldn't fathom wiping their own arse, even when I had been fully available on vacation to answer emails on procedure and protocol, I mean I prefer front to back...doesn't everybody? I also like when the roll of TP is bottom loaded and the paper falls under the roll vs. over. Seems like I waste less time re-rolling the unused TP versus when the top load is used. Whatevs...
Alrighty, so everybody's doing it and I am the first to follow a crowd and not be a free thinker and do what everybody else is doing for the sake of doing what everybody else is doing. Actually, I love lists and furthermore, Shaun
is more into lists than I am. Even though I would surely be considered the narrotic in the fam, he is way better at them and pratices regularily. Top 25 Beatles songs was a fave, I'm sure there's a Top all time athlete list, along with how many plant varieties do we have in our yard list and now...the Samui wrap-up list. I just like to follow along, add my two cents, get drunk and blog all about it.
So, from the perspective of Shaunee, but in my interpretation...still without spell check. Yay, I still don't care that much.
Most expensive coconut: 50 Baht
Least expensive coconut: 9 Baht
Favorite Thai Dish: Paenang Curry-Chicken
Least Favorite Thai Dish: Spicy Seafood Salad (and we love Sushi-but this was soooo beyond)
Favorite Thai Beer: Singha Light (only took about a week to find the light version of already light beer, did you doubt us?)
Favorite Drink: Watermelon Shake...seriously, yummmm!
Favorite Fruit: Mangosteen
Most interesting Dessert: Thai Pancake/Mango with Sticky Rice (Shaun's pick/Heidi's pick...I think I'm the winner, but that's no surprise either)
Best meal Heidi prepared: Glass Noodle Soup with Cabbage and Pork (yup...I agree. Try to ignore the 3rd
person bit and refer to sentence at beginning of list)
Best meal Shaun prepared: Cheese sandwich (in a country that does not eat bread or cheese, yes this was awesome!!!)
Favorite Activity: Snorkling all around Koh Phi Phi Islands
Least favorite Activity: Shopping in Chaweng (this sucked so bad and Shaun had his first rage blackout.)
# of 7-11's on the way from our house to the Airport: 16
# of dead dogs in street: 1 (sad, but still surprising considering all the dogs lay in the middle of the street)
# of Bags of Sunflower Seeds Heidi's mom smuggled in from America: 7 (quiting smoking sucks...still!)
Least expensive serving of Pad Thai: 40 Baht
Most expensive Pad Thai: 380 Baht
Cost of 2 scoops of Haagen Daas ice-cream: 230 Baht (friggin' Chaweng day, I would never have gotten it)
Favorite Snack: Pocky Sticks (yummmmm!)
Least favorite snack: Deep fried quail eggs on a stick
# of airplanes to get from Portland to Koh Samui: 4
# of hours to travel 15 hour time difference: 36 hours (yes, I cried on the way back, it was not my only time crying in Thailand though. Read "Something Goes Bump in the
Night" and drink a fifith of Vodka and see if you cry, ok?)
# of Historical Presidential Innaguarations and Superbowls viewed: 0 (I'm sure I blogged about that too)
Favorite Book read: Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer (Shaun) Are you there Vodka, it's me Chelsea? (Heidi, duh)
# of Buddhists monks smoking a cigarette: 1 (Gawd...I wished I was a buddhist monk right then!)
# of boat rides: 28
# of islands visited: 14
# of bugs Heidi ate: 5 (oh, I blogged about it)
# of bugs Shaun ate: 0 (wuss)
And, well that's it. Sad, I know. Don't worry, I still have plenty to blog about, I just have to find the time (when I'm wasted by the way) to sit down and compose my horrific thoughts to share on a public forum.
