It was another early start to the day after another late evening. I hope these travel blogs are making sense as most of them have been written between 12-1am! As soon as I put my feet on the ground this morning they asked me when I was going to be done with this walking 7+miles a day thing? LOL

We started our day at St. Nicholas church on the way to the Prague castle. The trek there is all up hill and stairs and we were really feeling all of our muscles today. St. Nicholas was nice, but all of their churches and cathedrals here are a little more on the gaudy side on the inside than we normally like (oh, and not heated either). Prague castle was great. Huge plaza area with a lot to see. You could almost spend a full half day there if you really wanted to. There are great city views from the top of the hillside as well.

We then walked the mile to a monastery that is famous for their amazing library…and amazing it was. We had lunch there, soup in a bread bowl. I had cabbage soup (think sweeter sauerkraut) and Matt had goulash soup..both very yummy. The only downside to the casual restaurants that we have been to is that they play the radio. Mostly English songs that are a blast from the past (Sting, Peter Gabriel, Madonna)…I don’t want to hear Bob Marley while I’m in Prague eating my sausage and cabbage in a monestary.

Late afternoon was nice. We went back to the old square area and just wandered around, went into shops, etc… We had dinner and then walked back towards the Charles Bridge for Matt to get some night shots. Breathtaking views….but brrrr….cold! We had to warm up and chose one of the several cafes with outdoor seating in the old square. They have the heaters out there and we had some dessert, mulled wine, and cappuccinos. It was the kind of evening where you work really hard to burn what you are experiencing into your memory because you never want to forget the beauty, the cold, the smells, and the sounds. I’m not sure if life will bring us back to Prague, and I don’t want to forget this evening.

Prague
I loved seeing your photos of Prague. It reminded me of the time we visited Prague. It can be a dreary city when the sun isn't shining. Aunt Suzy
