Dinner at our placeDinner at our placeDinner at our place

Here we are with our friends from California who are leaving today! Boo hoo. Those 2 wks went fast! You can see my "blinds" that I made out of the sticks we had left over from the structure that was taken down when we bought the place.
Not much new to report here. The big "drama" in the park is the structure being built on the front that is made out of steel. Everyone is up in arms b/c of the welding that is going on which poses a huge fire danger to the palapas. First the structure was way too high so they had to lower it. In the process of lowering the trusses, more welding along with more sparks. The owners on either side of this are very nervous as are most of the folks because it is so dry. One spark combined w/ the propane gas everyone uses, and this park could be history. Add to that low water pressure, no fire trucks or fire station.........now, remember where we are. Just a couple of weeks ago there was a fire just about 15 miles and it almost took the whole town. Work has now stopped. The owner of one of the adjacent palapas is not here at the moment and one of her friends is looking in on things for her. Upon checking things out, she noticed that several bottles of wine were missing. Duh!! The owner of the park is well aware of the situation and says that he will "take care of it". We shall see.

We have also hired a guy to redo our gate. I think I negociated a good deal and have only given him 5 days to do the work. We shall see. Our worker, Arturo, arrived about 8.30 am, worked a typical hour, then had to go for breakfast. Now he is back. I am expecting him to work 6 hours a day. I know that is a LOT, but.....we are paying him a daily wage at 6 hours a day. I am sure there will be stories on this one.

Mike got the park maintenance guy, Gabriel, to join him in his daily stretches. Wow!! No, we really like Gabriel. His daughter also works here and her hubby is Arturo who is doing our work on the front gate.

Enjoy our photos from paradise...............we are really looking forward to having Bob and Joyce here. I am sure they will have some good stories to add and lots of laughs (I hope)!
