Days 69 & 70

We went for an early walk around Lake Matheson where we got a great view of Mount Cook and the fox glacier and then headed to the gorgeous town of Wanaka. We went for a wander around the town, had some dinner then headed out for the night. There were quite a few people out and it was a good night - cheap beer and a live band, what more can you ask for!

After a lovely long lie in we caught a bus to Monster Trucks New Zealand where Stu was in his element!! After getting kitted up in a race suit and helmet, he took to the wheel of a Tarus, the biggest monster truck in New Zealand (like Big Foot). He drove it around a track which included driving over big mounds, cars and a couple of little jumps. It was really amazing to be behind the wheel of something with so much power - UGG!!! We then had a free go in the monster school bully - a converted school bus. We were driven around the track by the instructor. In the evening we went to the coolest cinema ever where the seats are couches and armchairs or you can sit in a car and watch the film. There's only one screen so you have no choice about what you watch, but we saw Honeymooners (we'd never heard of it) and it was really good. Go and see it if it's out over there.

Going to school would have been a joy if the buses were like this...

Monster Truck
Stu's perfect car. The WORST driver (especially parking) in history just got himself a monster. Please be sure to leave it in NZ. Please!
