A view from the restaurant up the hill
I had a nice and quiet weekend. Shopped in different open air markets (La Flores and La democracia) on Saturday and went for supper with my neighbour at a restaurant called El Panorama. Good food and great view but quite the hike. My Guatemala guide book said that it was a 10 minute walk up: I am sure this is true if you are a 20 years old man who just finished basic training. Took me and Wayne a bit longer.

On Sunday, I decided to transcribe all of my notes from my Spanish courses. I have been at it for 6 hours and I am just about half done. I took a 2 hour break in the afternoon to walk around and I guess it must have been weird people day. First, I met the guy in a green coat who likes to stand in the middle of the street and yell at people and cars. Then, a few blocks away, there was this older guy, high on something, and with a dirty indeex finger, running after people to touch them with said finger. I guess you had to be there but it was hilarious, even more so when I got away from him. Finally, there was a guy asleep on the sidewalk. My guess is that he was homeless. He made the mistake of taking off his shoes. Another homeless guy walk by and just stole the shoes. Doggie eat dog world.

I hope your weekend was as nice as mine.
