Edit Blog Post

just a quick note. we're just about ready to leave the hostel here in budapest for the train station to catch our train to belgrade.

just had the hugest supper ever. we had potatoe and sausage ring soup for appetizer, then i had pork ribs and potatoes and jeff had trout and potatoes. what a feed. but then of course we had to have this viennese apple crumble dessert thing. god now i need to roll to the train station.

today was another day moseying around the city. went to the terror museum this morning (former arrow cross headquarters, think nazis, commies and other assorted nasties). then off to the zoo! i love zoos! a bit cold for the animals i guess since many were missing. then we split up as jeff wanted to try out the hot spring baths in teh city and i was not too in to that. so i headed for the holocaust museum which was super interesting but pretty depressing. then some more walking aroudn the pedestrian areas of the city. lots of streets closed to traffic and just people strolling, shopping, talking. very nice atmosphere. a bit colder today, a few snowflakes around but still not too bad. didnt' get wet at least.

bought a phone card and, surprisingly, was on the phone to home in less than 5 mins at teh first payphone we saw.

see you in serbia

ps thanks for the comment on the blog susanne! (hint hint to everyone else - makes me feel like people actually read it and its worthwhile to do)
