Hello!

Miriam, Lilly and I had to get up at early times on Monday to go and sort out our Russian visas. It was far more complicated than it should have been and the lady at the desk was less than helpful but after an hour of wandering back and forth from the embassy to get photocopies of passports etc we finally got it sorted so that's one less thing we have to sort out! After that we decided to get the bus up to Victoria peak as it is one of the touristy things we wanted to do.

Hong Kong is a place of huge contrast and never is this more evident than at the top of Victoria Peak. You can sit, surrounded but plant and wildlife and have the most incredible view of the iconic Hong Kong city-scape, a vast metropolis, with a population density of 6,303 people per square mile...epic. (Mim)

The bus journey up to the Peak was very pretty but kind of scary as we were on the top of a double decker right next to the edge of the mountain. When we arrived at the top we went for a supposedly short

walk around the top. Half-way round, however, I spotted a set of steps leading up so we decided to detour and find out where the mysterious unmarked path led to... After 20 minutes of steep upward climb we reached the summit of the mountain where we discovered a beautiful well-kept public garden but no tourists seemed to know of its existance - there were no signs as to where the path we were following went to and it seems a great shame that this garden is unnoticed. On the way down we saw a snake and it went wiggle wiggle wiggle... and our bottoms went jiggle jiggle jiggle... when we arrived back down to the touristy bit of the peak we had lunch and Lilly went to work. Mim and I managed to get all the way home all by ourselves! :D

Tuesday was relatively unneventful, however we played tennis with the boys (Mim and Toby lost! haha!) and made fish and chips from scratch! 😊 It was amazing...so amazing that Tim and Helen had hysterics. that's not actually why but we can't remember the real reason so that will do. The pictures are quite amusing 😊 see below...

The following day
(yesterday)
we made our way...
to big wave bay!

Despite the relatively cold weather we spent the afternoon sat on the beach - Toby and Mim even ventured into the sea for a "well-long" time (five minutes max!) while the rest of us sat shivering in our jeans and jumpers! On the way there we drove through one of the richest areas in Hong Kong with lots of really sexy mahoosive mansion things. James roamed around aimlessly playing guitar (if you look very very very minutely closely at the first picture of the beach he is sitting on the lifeguard post with his guitar haha) Toby and Jake had tree climbing competitions and generally everyone had good sandy fun. Then it was hometime for roast pork and apples. I even had LINDA MCCARTNEY VEGGIE SAUSAGES 😊 vair exciting.

Today, we've just vegged really. done some blogging, Lilly and James practising for singing in church on the roof, Mim and James playing tennis at the clubhouse, just chillage in general.

Until next time...Alice xx
