So, like every first Sunday of the month, I headed out to a museum - I love free museum day, hehe. I decided that I would finally go to Museum D’Orsay because I keep talking about it and never do it. It was really nice. It was a good mix of sculptures and paintings and not as overwhelming as the Louvre. I arrived a little after ten and the line up to get in was just over ½ an hour long. Once in, I started by checking out the mask exhibit (no pictures, sorry) and wandered around some of the sculptures. Then I decided to check out the Picasso/Manet exhibit “Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe.” There was a line up to get in this exhibit, but because it was free, it went fairly fast - I think I waited for about 30 minutes. Funnily enough, the guy letting us in the exhibit asked me for my phone number, lol. He didn’t creep me out or smell bad, so I figured what the hell. I then continued on my way to the impressionist exhibit where I found paintings by Monet, Renoir, and Van Gough, among others. When I had seen pretty much most of the museum it was only 1:30, so I thought I would check out another museum. Les Invalides and the armory museum was only a short walk away.

When I arrived at Les Invalides I discovered that it is not free today. It was the third time I had been there and not gone inside, so I decided to suck it up and pay the 8.50 Euros and check it out. Napoleon’s tomb solidified the already known fact that the man had an inferiority complex. His tomb was so over the top, but interesting nonetheless. I really enjoyed walking through the world wars displays and watching the evolution of weaponry right before my eyes. I did feel that not enough attention was given to the Holocaust, but, it is a French museum 😉. The armory museum section was good too; however, I was really bothered by the child armor. Granted, it was the amour for Louis XIII as an infant, it was still bothersome to see.

Well, that is all for now, I hope everyone is doing well

I wondered, do you think the piece in the left corner is for the cat?

Apparently, this is one of the most famous paintings by an American, not shown in an American museum
