Dear all,
Christmas has been and gone already and tomorrow is New Years Eve!
It is supposed to be the dry season here in the Philippines but at the moment the weather is all over the place and it is raining hard every day. It even rained all day on Christmas day. Boxing day was more of the same and it was that evening that we had an earthquake. Dan and I were playing Risk when the room began to shake. We were just debating whether we should head outside or get under the table when it stopped. The next day we found out that the centre of the quake was very near but thankfully it was only a 4.5. Since then we have had a couple of tiny after shocks...but its all quiet again now. Luckily there was no damage anywhere and I am pretty sure that no one got hurt. Although it was only a small shake it made me think that I certainly wouldnt want to experience anything stronger!

With the weather being bad there isnt that much to do but one thing that you can do when it rains is go diving! Today we went to a dive site called Shark cave and sure enough...there in the cave was a shark. It was sleeping and we were able to get very close to it. It was a white tip reef shark and about two metres long.

Tomorrow we are going on a trip to Verde Island to do some diving and then have a bbq on the beach...but if the rain continues it might have to be cold food on the boat! Then we are planning to head into town for a few beers to see the New year in. Hopefully New Years Day will be spent on the beach....we will see!

Anyway Happy New Year to all of you, love and big hugs,
Wendy
xx

Snakes!
I saw Dan's video of the snake on facebook - very good, particularly for having been done on the stills camera! Not sure I'd have ventured that close though :-) Happy New Year to you too!! xxx
