We saw several patients from incidents involving these things.
Today we drove over to Dargaville, where my uncle used to be a GP some time in the 70's. I was saddened however to find that the mullets I so wish to have seen and which he must have seen plenty of back then have begun to die out. A small (hopefully breeding) population still exists in a remote cafe down a dirt track to the south of the town. Which reminds me, I'm going to find a proper NZ barber to deal with my ever increasingly wild mullet.

A quiet town, we enjoyed a nice luncheon and tripped up to the museum where we used their bogs, but didn't go in cause it looked a bit crap and cost $7 (thats more than a large beer!)

Then treked down to the beach, where we hired a quad bike for an hour and drove up and down it. It was very beautiful and serene with the wild ocean crashing onto one side and graceful dunes extending up the other, and wild birds nesting in said dunes, and quad bikes and 4WD's tearing up and down spewing out toxic hydrocarbon metabolites from their grinding metal guts... Wot a loverly picture.

Though fortunatly we maintainded control at all times...

Then drove up to the Kiw Iwie (sp?) lakes and cruised back to Dargaville hopeing to find a petrol station open cause we didn't have enough gas to get back to Whangarei.

Roadkills: 3.

Lucky gits!
Swanning around middle earth destroying it with petrol! As I said, lucky gits! Glad to see you're having fun, Rob seems to be getting to know local food and beer brilliantly - although I'm amazed that didgy looking blokes with knives kept you away from alcofrol! Have fun out there - and don't forget to come back... T
