Hello, everybody out there in UK Land, and beyond. I just know that you will be delighted to hear that the weather has now brightened up and we are now sweltering in temperatures over 30 degrees.

We have done a few things since our last post. We went on a round the island sightseeing trip on Tuesday. This included visiting a couple of temples, some waterfalls, looking at rude shaped rocks, high viewing points, seeing elephants, monkeys, even tigers. The photos should give you a flavour of our trip. Ken also got 'interviewed' for a holiday survey at one of the temples. That evening he received a phone call informing him that he had won a 7 day holiday in one of the top holiday resorts in the island. Being the cynics we are we wondered what the catch was and well.... there was one. We had to sit and listen to a sales rep attemping to sell us some sort of holiday timeshare scheme for over an hour. Having turned his proposition down we still received our prize which is valid for 18 months. So it looks like it will be back out to Thailand some time next year

Just like a woman. Saying she has got her hands full.
after we finish our trip.

We have discovered two (well more than two) but two very good drinking places; one called The Office which is run by a really nice New Zealand guy, and the other bar is called Blues and Pool, which does exactly what it says on the tin. They play excellent blues and rock music all night and have a free pool table: Ken has found heaven!

Last night we went to the next village along the coast (Bo Phut) where our best intentions to have a quiet night floundered badly. It all started going wrong when we went in to a pub which was having a quiz. Although we did not enter a couple of Dutch blokes sat beside us and asked us for any input we might have. Modesty forbids........ to a degree! Needless to say we pushed the resident weekly winners mightily close. Determined to make a swift exit we got bought a drink by a Geordie who was celebrating his birthday - three hours later we managed to struggle out of the bar. Off course we were verrrry, verrry, verrry verrry drunk.

Which as usual has meant a fairly quiet

Hi there
Well it sounds like things are going great for you on Samui. Your trip looks like it was a good day out and the weather has fixed itself. We're really liking Perth, have a mechanic looking at a camper for us now and we'll hopefully buy it and hit the road if it checks out. Weather was scorching the first few days, bit of rain yesterday coz of a cyclone up north which is gone now apparently, so should be back to 30-35 again. We'll keep in touch, bye for now. C and RA
