On the train
Agra to Jaipur... Best way of travelling Taking a train from Agra to Jaipur - capital of Rajasthan (or Rajputhan). Great way to travel India. We meet a young woman with a son, she tells us proudly that she is a Brahmin (one of the highest casts). We have a talk and she is shocked to hear that in Canada we do not have servants. She has three. the casts still play a big role in this part of India. When people ask for your name, they ask for your "good name". Not sure what would be a "bad name". Her "good name" is Sadna. She likes my jewlery (a couple of gold chains and earings), she is surprised that I am wearing any. My blond hair is a hit too.
Once we get to Jaipur, a taxi is waiting for us and takes us to a beautiful homestay owned by Captain Singh. The owner and his wife just returned from a wedding and they both look awesome the way they are dressed. We are the only guests for the two nights as there were lots of cancellations due to Mumbai bombings. We have three servants waiting on us day and night. It seems to be easy
to get used to it. 😊
We visit Amber Fort - hopefully we shall have a chance to upload some pictures as it is a real masterpiece. Apparently one of the maharajas had 12 wifes. Each of them had their own kitchen and of course bedroom. The royalty is still alive and well here. The current maharaja is over 70 years old. He has no sons, but only daughters. So he adopted his oldest daughter's son who will become the next maharaja.
It is a wedding season here - lots of firewoks, dressed horses, camels elephants. Loud fireworks, lots of music everywhere.
We are definitely liking India now 😊

Vaziavom traukiniu is Agros i Jaipur - Radzastano (cia dar vadina Radzputanu) sostine. Plackartu. Sedejome kartu su jauna inde Sadna. Ji labai didziuojasi jog yra is Brahminu kastos ir stebisi jog mes neturime tarnu 😊 Ji turi tris. Jai patinka mano auskarai ir grandineles - ji labai nustebus jog as jas nesioju. Mano sviesus plaukai jai irgi buvo naujiena 😊
Atvaziavus i Jaipur'a, musu laukia taxi kuris nuveza iki viesbutuko kurio savininkas yra kapitonas Sinkgas.
Amber Fort
There are entertainers waiting at the bottom of the hill - elephants, snake charmers, musicians... abu pasipuose. mes esam vieninteliai sveciai, tai turim tris tarnus sokinejancius apie mus. Galima prie to greitai priprasti...
Indija pradeda labai patikti 😊
