Hello everyone and sorry this took so long for me to write but i was waiting for my friends to send me some pictures since my camera got stolen and with it my pics from london. But before i get started i just want to say that ITS SNOWING here is belgium which is pretty incredable because they hardly ever get snow here.
London was an amazing trip, we started out early saturday morning, meeting up at Charleroi Gare to get on our bus. Once we were on it took about 3 hours to get to the ocean. Then we took a boat to get across the Passage to Great Britain. The boat was really cool and it was awesome seeing the coast of Great Britain rising from the sea.
On the way to London we stopped at the village called Canturbury-Where Canturbury tails by Geoffrey Chaucer centured on. We saw the big church there but we didnt go in because you had to pay money. So during the two hours that we had we just had lunch at Subway which we havnt seen for months because it doesnt exist in Belgium and also I had a Frap from Startbucks
which was the best i ever had in my life because again-in belgium they dont have them. The little village was really cute and we came on market day which was even cooler to see with all the little stalls that were set up and people selling things from food to clothes.
After that we made our way to London and when we got there it was pretty much time for supper so thay dropped us off in the centre of London for a couple of hours so we could eat and explore. It was amazing; there were thousands of people on the street and huge anchient and new buildings alll around you. We walked around and saw Big Ben for the first time and had supper at a Sushi place-ive missed sushi sooo much. Then after a couple hours of fun we got back to the bus to head to our HOtel.
It was a really nice HOtel but I didnt sleep that much the first night perfering to hang out with the other rotary students. in the morning we wook up early to start our day. First we went to the Wax Museam which was cool
seeing how realistic all the celebrities were. After that we went to Winsor Castle which was for me way more amazing. Inside the castle was amazing seeing all the old relics and weapons. Outside the grounds were beautiful too and i also saw my frist British gaurd decked out in all his glory-i got a pic with him. After that we had time again to have lunch and wonder around the little village around the castle.
Then they took us on a tour to see all the sites of london which was cool getting a look at the whole city. And again we could go whereever we wanted for supper and a whole group of us went to KFC-lets just say i didnt eat very healthy on this trip at all. Then afterwards again we walked around the city taking it in. When we got back to the HOtel room i was exhausted and went straight to bed.
The last day in london we got to see the tower of London which was by far my favorite place we went to. The Bloody tower was amazing-seeing where all the famous prisoners were kept before their beheading like Ann
Boleyn. There were a ton of writing on the walls that old prisoners wrote, and it was cool seeing their real writing. I want to learn about all these people in History class next year, i think English History is really interesting.
After that we again had time to go whereever we wanted. We decided to take a ride on the Eye of London, visit Buckingham Palace and buy some soveniers. Next we all had to meet up at the famous Hard Rock Cafe in London for supper. THen we got on our bus to go home-travelling through the night. I got a little sleep then woke up to get some air on the boat-we were all so tired it was hilarious. Then went back on the bus slept a little more and got back to CHarleroi Gare at 7 in the morning. Needless to say i was exshauted when i got home i slept all day, woke up for supper and slept again till the newt morning. Luckily we had a week break to recover after that.
All considered it was a wonderful trip and im so glad i went. I got closer to the exchange students
friends that i already had and made some new ones too. I definitely want to go back to England one day to see all the things that i missed.

London
Rebecca, you reminded me of some great memories I have had of London and travelling over on the ferry!! It was many years ago for me, almost 20, Jord & I went over for six weeks to great Britain with backpacks the year after we married. We are getting old hey! It really is a wonderful city. What a great trip with other Rotarian cities. Your mom & I are having lots of fun taking a NIA class at the TCC. You'd never know your Mom got move to movement the way she does. But what happens at Nia, stays at Nia. REALLY enjoyed your blog. Thanks so much.
