Ko Phangan, Ko Samui and Hat Yai
Days 72 - 80

Woke up this morning to blue skies and the sun, funcking sweet!! After breakfast hit the beach yay, being stupid though i forgot to put suncream on and fell asleep on the beach.. Out for around 3 hours and woke up not being able to move one side of my face and having a bright pink glow coming off my left side ha ha great first bit of sun in a few weeks and im burnt, what a spaz!! Decided it would be best to sit in the shade for the rest of the day so sat in our hammock 😊 relaxing..

Tonight's the night of the Full Moon Party so everyone was by the bar quite early on the buckets, got talking to a few others who ended up staying with us which was good woulda prob been a bit shit just me and pete.. We got a cab down to the beach and it was ramo people everywhere and everywhere was selling buckets for like 3 quid, woop woop.. It was a good night we got some weird illuminous paintings on our arms, Pete musta been quite drunk at this point cos he decided he wanted his on his face ah ha.. Ended up losing most of the people we was with and came back separate, when i got back Pete was asleep on the hammock shivering ha ha i had the key, not so stupid after all ha ha!!

The next morning i was alright but Pete was a mess and didn't move all morning.. I was craving some doritos and dip so went on a mission found a Tesco thought i was onto a winner but no luck ended up with cheese (i have no idea what i was thinking prob still drunk) ?! Still can't go in the sun though im more burnt than i thought oops so sat in the shade rest of the day.. Bit of a quiet day didn't really do much and ended up having an early night..

Not so burnt today so i opted for a day by the pool, Pete went on some trekk to find waterfalls or something?! Played some cards with a few other people around and then started on the drink.. A few others were going back to Haad Rin where the full moon party was so we thought we'd join them.. Then they disappeared for ages so we thought we'd stay put, they came back eventually with full faces of makeup, straightened hair and properly dressed.. My first thought being bitch has got hair straighteners then what the fuck?? I looked a state but couldn't be arsed sop went as i was.. When we got there though nowhere would play music, i think something happened with someone important or something in their country and they had 3 days of respect?! Even so we had a good night sat on the beach drinking and then headed back to the resort where we watched movies til the sun came up.. After i went a bed but the others had to catch a boat ha ha..

Didn't feel so great when i woke up and so spent most of the day trying to keep cool, and watching rubbish on tv, the food is starting to really piss me off every menu is the same it's like eating at a bad cafe everyday lunch and dinner for a month!!

Day 76 - On to Ko Samui, our boat was at 12:30 so not a bad time and was only about an hour journey.. On arriving we thought we go somewhere a bit less touristy and so headed for Mae Nam beach.. When we arrived we wereliterally in the middle of nowhere, alright though we had a bungalow on the beach and os i thought im set for a few days of sun.. Pete was a bit more aggitated though i think it was a hell of a long way form anything, peaceful though i had the beach to myself 😊 nice after 5 days of mad drinking in Ko Phangan..

Up for breakfast this morning evryone there is quite friendly prob cos people rarely go there i think there is two other people staying in the place?? Not liking the dogs though they are everywhere think they prob have rabies as well lucky ive had the jabs!! Stayed on the beach most of the day, lazing around.. Tried out some Thai food for dinner weren't bad just like chinese food really..

The bungalow we are staying in is ALOT bigger than the last however of a night there are these really weird noises that come from behind it, it sounds like a donkey and a cow and then you've got the weird noise the fan makes so it's really hard to sleep.. Thought it would be nice cos you can hear the sea but that just adds to the noise.. Also there is loads of weird bugs and one night on the fan was a cockroach, lucky we spotted it cos there could of been cockroach gutts everywhere or a cockraoch on one of our faces, gross.. After alot of kaffuffle we managed to get rid of it but that left me wide awake all night.. Decided to leave the next day was a nice place but a bit boring and i hadn't slept the last two nights.. Thought we'd go to Suratthani and then head south somewhere in Thailand..

Got up and got a cab to the pier, the woman driving was probably the worst driver i have ever been in a car with.. She attempted to takeover someone on a hill just before a corner in the wrong gear, so we didn't quite make it passed them when someone came round the corner going the other way.. Even then she didn't fall back but instead nearly ran them off the road?! She took us to a different pier than we had gone to before and turned out we were getting on a ferry not a boat.. It was soo much better bigger and more comfortable, if only we'd found it sooner this is our last boat ha ha.. We arrived at the port around 1 and had then to get a bus to the town centre.. We had thought we night stay here a nightbut when we got off the bus we were bombarded by people asking 'where you go?" 'where you go?' so ended up booking a bus to Hat Yai.. The bloke had said it left in 10 Min and took 4 hours at most so we thought we might as well get it.. What he didn't tell us was the pick up was in 10 min we then had to wait in a room for 1 hour and then spend another hour picking others up and the 11 seat minibus we were going in was going to attempt to pack in 13 people!! The journey was horrible and we didn't end up arriving til 8pm we had left that morning at 9:30 so were absolutely knackered.. We found a guesthouse in the book and were dropped off there, on going in it didn't look to good and the rooms were worse.. They smelt like piss and the bathroom was the worst ive seen yet.. The toilet was just a hole in the floor, the white tiles were yellow and it was just grimmy ergh it made my skin crawl.. We were gna stay two nights but i was reluctant to stay one.. Being too tired to be bothered to go elsewhere we stayed and then went out in search if dinner.. After wandering for a bit we stumbled on gold, KFC, Pizza Hut and Mc D's all in the same place, this made up for the shit room.. After weighing up our options we decided that Pizza Hut would best suit our deitary needs and mmmm it was goood.. We went back to the shithole we were staying in after and i picled up a couple of cheap books to read.. Oh yeah also bumped into the only other two westerners, also english in pizza hut haha said they had the same dilemma where to goha ha..

I woke up early the next day to try and get us outta the dump we were in and managed to get a bus at 9:00am to Ipoh, Malaysia and it was only a 6hour journey.. While waiting i scooted to McD's to get us some breakfast 😊 coyuldn't pass up the opportunity..

The coach to Malaysia was amazing, the best by far and so comfy.. Didn't take long to get through the border as there was no visa needed again and the rest of the journey went pretty quick.. We arrived in Ipoh at about 5pm as the clocks had gone forward again.. I like it already got off the bus and it was a hell of alot cleaner thatn anywhere in Thailand and the people seem very friendly, also it doesn't seem very touristy at all.. We booked in to the New Caspian hotel and i weren't expecting much anything woulda been better than the dive we'd just stayed at, but on entering i was shocked it was so nice.. The room itself loooked like a hotel room you'd get back home and the shower was better than the shower at home 😊 at last a shower that has a hot water tap not just an on tap..

After talking to the man at reception we found out there was a cinema nearby so headed there to see what was on and found the new bond film😊 and at just over a pound each it was a bargain.. Picked up some snacks as well popcorn and a drink also just over a pound this place is frigging great.. Also the cinema is inside a shopping centre so i know what im doing tomorrow ha ha.. After the film which was pretty good we went to get a few drinks in this outdoor food court place then headed back to our snazzy hotel 😊..

Nance, how great this entry is, its fantastic to be kept in the loop as to your whereabouts. Glad to hear that not everywhere is cockroach infested grimy holes, and I'm really liking the sound of the buckets of cocktail for £1.
