Limo Bus 2

So, aplogies for the last blog being so short. Rach discovered that the Cambodian sat next to her was looking at, well Ping Pong so to speak, and shuffling suspiciously. So we up and left with some haste.

On the internet again as we have just booked our accommodation in Saigon which we are heading to tomorrow. Then we have a tour booked out on the Mekong Delta which should be good.

So, the Limo Bus. This was our booked transport from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, I had visions of a luxurious bar, cocktails all round, and perhaps even a nice leather sofa to lay out on..... Well we got a free bottle of water. The journey took about 5 hours and in fairness it was fine. Really interesting to see the countryside and the local way of life.

The water festival was something to behold. 424 long boats racing down the river, with a carnival like atmosphere on the shore side. Apparently only 1 participant drowned this year which was a marked improvement on the 5 from last year.

Visited the Genocide Museum and Killing Fields, which leave a lasting impression.

On a more up beat note Rach made her first purchase of the holiday, 2 Gap t-shirts for $4 (and she did not even barter for that).

So, today is a lazy day, with the exception of a run in the countryside this afternoon with our Hostel owner and his friends. As we will be walking at the back somewhere I am hoping that they would have already found any land-mines before we get to them

Oh Yes
I did, however had to do it in a sneaky style so the misses would not suspect anything. It was "Look at those genuine copy Gucci handbacgs my dear....." whilist i jotted down the location for later!
