Somala KoalaSomala KoalaSomala Koala

I cuddled a koala!
Well.. we are winding down towards the end of our trip! Finally made it to Australia after many cancelled flights, missed connections, and baggage loss! Yes it was an adventure but we finally got our luggage after spending a day in Brisbane in our same clothes. Lucky that we had warm clothes on because Brisbane was cold!

We spent one day walking the Queens Street mall. I kept thinking of my sister and how much she would love this place! The mall was huge! It was a whole street block long and had many mulitple levels of different stores! Oh there was so much to see.. so little time!

On our second day in Brisbane, we took a tour to the Australia Zoo. They were really big into Steve Irwin there and it so happened to be Steve Irwin day on Nov 15. There were many momentos of him and his work that he did for the conservation and awareness of wild animals. The best part of the zoo (for me anyways) was that we got to feed live kangaroos. I even got to see a little baby kangaroo jump into his mother's pouch. Jeff didn't think the little

guy could fit.. but he made his way in there! I also had a very close encounter to an emu.. who was very interested in my hand. My most favorite part.. was that I got to cuddle a koala! =) Jeff's favorite part was the lizards, crocs and the very large tortoise.

We had a brief visit to Surfer's Paradise. This place was like the Waikiki of Australia! It was very cool here and it was too bad that we only had 2 hours to spend there. One thing I can say.. it was the softest sand I have ever walked in! So far.. beaches with the best sand in order... Surfer's Paradise, Cancun, Miami.
