The Old City
The Western Wall near sundown. Shalom from Isra'el, and the City of the Great King!
Mitchel and Mom went to the busy and well-known places today called the "Shuk" (pronounced "shook") and "Ben Yahudah" street. The shuk is full of open market-type sales. Most of it is fresh things like fish, whole or pieced, in barrels of ice to buy for dinner, or fruits and vegetables galore. I am sorry that I didn't have the camera with me ~ Rob had it at the P.M. Conference. There are also many vendors that have barrels of spices that look so fun - I just wouldn't know what to do with most of them and didn't really have time to stop to chat with the various vendors, so still don't know. I kept thinking, "If I could just live here...I could learn all about these." You can guess, my desire to be here has not weakened in the least!
Something to explain that I was not ever made aware of ~ There is a very "different spirit" in Jerusalem than in any other city in this state. This I was not expecting. We know from the Bible that Jerusalem is the one place in the whole
The Old City
A view of the graves beyond the Temple Mount, up the other side of the Kidron Valley. entire world that YHWH (Yahweh - the Name that "God" used to introduce Himself to man, not "God" or "Lord", as we have been led to believe through greater and greater distance from the original writing,) chose to place His Name forever. It is no surprise, then, that every major religion in the world somehow wants to own a piece of this amazing city. The Enemy of YHWH seeks to claim what he knows can never be his. Because of this there are literally confusions of spirits here. There is a sense of unsettledness, of contentions - confusion. I have witnessed that the "Western Wall" is a place of worship, but that it has become the focus of their worship by some. There are religious servants of exactly that - religion - both on the part of the Jewish people as well as the "Christian", and whatever is in between. YHWH has never revoked His appointment of this city. He is jealous for His City. We have a greater understanding of that now. This city, like no other on the face of the earth, has seen war and bloodshed and various kingdom changes over the millenia. Soon there will be

The outcome of this one, after incomparable suffering, will see the King of kings and Sar Shalom (Prince of Peace) finally and rightfully ruling from HIS throne. It is good to be here. We are thankful. We have learned more about the reality of the Truth.
On the lighter side, we have seen many things of interest. Monday we left for the Negev where we visited the organic farm of a Gush Katif refugee, Azuli. What a precious soul he is! He was told by his own government three and a half years ago that he and all the others that lived in Gush Katif would have to leave so that the Palestinians could have their homes and farms, in an effort to keep peace in the land. Azuli has made the desert bloom, with the help of YHWH, of course! We were blessed with the privilege of planting olive trees on his farm and having a tour of his grounds where he grows pummelos, pomegranates, olives, grapefruit, and more. He has bees, chickens, geese, sheep, and more. Most importantly, he has a love for the people who love his Elohim, ("God" in

Planting olive trees in Israel. May Hashem cause them to produce good fruit. Mitchel dug right in! the form of multiplicity given at creation.)
From there we visited a couple of communities of Gush Katif refugees who live in what they refer to as "glue and paper" homes. They were promised new places to live by their governmment three and a half years ago. They still wait. They are lovely people, accepting what they are living, hoping for better. They need help. they need to know they are loved more than what they have been shown by those in positions to help or hurt them.
From there we headed to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on the face of the entire earth. Remember the story of this place? It is what remains of the once-flourishing Sodom and Gamorah. These were destroyed because of their rampant immorality and denial of the living ELOHIM. Hmm... Sounds too familiar for comfort! Amazing place. A heavy mist hangs over the Sea as you can look across and see the country of Jordan. It has a beauty, but not one that is at all famliar to our flourishing landscapes in America.
From the hotel at the Dead Sea we went to Masada and proclaimed the Name of YHWH

These houses are the same size for every family, whether they have 2 children or 7. They are clean, neat, and waiting... Yahshua from the echoing mountains. Then to David's stream and falls, the hills where he hid from King Saul. We saw caves where he likely crouched concealed; and ibex, who have the ability to climb straight up a cliff-side as easily as we walk on level ground.
On we came to Mount Zion Hotel, and here we will be until Friday. It will probably be next week before we get online again. Thank you for your prayers and your comments. These few pictures cannot even begin to capture what we've been experiencing, as you can probably guess. BTW, I goofed on one of the pics in the last blog. The view of the Old City caption didn't get the right photo. Sorry!
Thinking fondly of family and loved ones... you, on this receiving list. Shalom from Susie, Rob and Mitchel in Jerusalem - the City of YHWH Elohim.
