Beaches and the Big Pineapple

The past few days we have been relaxing on the beach. Brent had a morning training session at the Maroochydore beach so we went there (a change of beach scenery). This beach was a lot more crowded, but the water was so warm and the waves weren't as big as they are at Kawana Waters. I stayed in the water the whole time we were there, it was awesome.

We had lunch on a patio, and went to see another beach at Mooloolaba. We then drove back to the house and went to the usual beach (Brent had an afternoon training session).

Yesterday we went to the Big Pineapple! It seems that the Australians like to make big replicas of things, such as the big lobster, the big prawn, the big banana.... and of course, the big pineapple. We went there not really knowing what to expect (i.e. do you just look at the big pineapple and then go home?) but it turned out to be a really fun afternoon. It's actually a working pineapple farm and we took a train ride through the farm, a walk through a dry rainforest, and ended up at an animal nursery. There were more koalas and kangaroos (even one with a joey in its pouch!) and we saw a little owl show. We took the train back to the main area and had a pineapple and banana sundae which was incredible... the pineapple was so sweet, it was delicious.

The point of this entry is more to say HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone rather than update you on the big pineapple... haha. Brent and I are leaving on a sailing trip of the Whitsunday Islands today... I can't wait! I'll update you with more pictures and stories when we're back next week. I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year.

Happy 2006! 😊

P.S. Sorry, the pictures don't seem to be uploading properly, but I don't have time to fix it because we have to leave soon.... I'll add them when I'm back!

The force
I can sense that the Australia pull is getting stronger on you and that you might "lose" your return ticket. Great pictures. Love the one of the Kangaroo and the Joey.
