Hi everyone, hope you all had a weekend. Mine was very enjoyable. I went shopping with one of the other teachers on Saturday after class. Alina took me some of the good shops around San Jose, I bought some jewelry, a skirt and a scarf.

Yesterday I went on a tour to the Poas Volcano, and you can see the crater from when it errupted in 1910, there is steam coming out of it and the water is a blue color from whatever is in the volcano. Daddy, I'm sure you will have the scientific explaination. Then we drove onto the Paz Waterfall Gardens. It is very extensive. It has birds, butterflies, frogs, a replica of an old Costa Rican house complete with an ox cart and oxen. There were also monkies, pumas. All of this was in an enclosed area, not in the wild. Then we went to the waterfalls, it was a lot of walking up and down and bridges over the water. There are 5 different waterfalls, one on top of the next, not next to each other as I thought it would be. It was great, we had a lot of fun.

Well that's all for now, I will post pics soon, I promise.

Volcanos
It's amazing to think that in 100 years there's no growth in the volcano crater. It took 20 years for anything to start growing at Mt. St. Helens. I haven't been there recently, but I doubt if there's anything growing in the crater there either. Keep having fun! I'm sure the homesickness will start to set in soon, but you can work it out. How long do you plan to stay? Lynn

Amy, thanks for sending the pictures. I am always interested in what you are doing and seeing. The coffee plantation was beautiful. It looked like you were so close to the volcano. Since there was a fence there, I guess it was safe. Grandma Betty
