I am beginning to think that none of my entries in this Travelblog have reached u so I am keeping this brief as a test run. Diana and I have travelled from Venezuela where we saw the Angel Falls, held Anacondas, climbed 2800mt high Tepui, which is a flat toped mountain in the south of the country. Then continued into Brazil and floated down the Amazon River for 8 days with 8 other westeners, lying and sleeping on deck in hammocks and eating rice beans and cow for the entire trip. Boat was fun thou and made a lot of local freinds. November and December were spent here in Brazil and as its such a huge country we have still not reached the border with Argentina yet. Attended carnival in Natal for 2 nights and danced out socks off. In Salvadore, the black capital of Brazil joined in xmas celebrations which consisted of party every night and more dancing and drinking ciprianas, a potent drink made from lime juice, sugar and cane juice, yum, yum..... Xmas itself was spent here in Rio where we joined up with a group of English and 2 Aussies off the Dragoman tour group who we have followed the tour down Brazil, and they cooked us all a typical English baked dinner including xmas pud..... Rio has ben awesome. The views of the statue of Christ up the mountain, and from another mountain called Sugarloaf are spectacular. The beach is a little dissapointing for 2 reasons, the first being the waves are sooo big we cant get in to swim, and the second we expected it to be full of the beautiful jetset crowd in brief bikinis and instead is full of over- weight Brazilains, in other words ordinary joe-blogs..... A sum up of the 2 countrys covered so far.... Venezuela was a country of exordanary animal and nature type experiences, which is very dangerous in the cities and the people rather suspcious of each other...... where as Brazil is huge, very friendly, great music, wonderful beaches and sand dunes, very hot and great fun.....but I must say that as both countries are very 1st worldish, I am really hankering for the West coast of Sth America and visiting Boliviar and Peru etc. Well will sign off and hope u all had a wonderful xmas and a great new Year. Love to all from Diana and Kay xxxxxx ps by clicking previous journal u can read the last entry.... are still trying to download photos
