A visit to Pompeii was the highlight of our day on route from Rome to Sorrento. Our two hour guided walking tour touched on only a small portion of the ruins of this 160 acre site. The city ruins were far more extensive and better preserved than any of us had anticipated. We saw shops, houses, mosaics, frescoes, pottery, temples and bodies all surprisingly well preserved.

Today we got to sample real Italian pizza for lunch and dinner. The group is evenly divided regarding their opinion about whether they prefer Italian or Australian pizza.

Our Hotel, the Majestic Palace, is the nicest yet with very spacious rooms and balconies with sweeping views of orchards, surrounding villages and/or the Bay of Naples.

Tonight we had a very nice four course meal in Sorrento. Most came back to the hotel and had a sing-a-long in the lounge with people from other tours. Mr George played piano. Our group has developed a reputation for musical talent with our three teachers and our music students all singing for the group.
