I've been in Bangkok for two days now and have loved it. Bangkok is one of those places everyone says is fantastic and only now I understand why. On Monday evening we arrived in Thailand and met our tour guide 'Wasan' at the border and I'd like to add that he is absolutely adorable and just a little bit hot. Must admit I have a bit of a soft spot for him.

After a couple of hours settling in we went for dinner and then to Khao San road for some drinks. There were tourists as far as the eye can see and even more people trying to sell anything and everything to said tourists. The funniest thing was hearing the odd Thai person shout out ping pong or make the sound of a ping pong popping out of a certain orafice with their mouth! I'm sure I don't have to explain to you what that means. VERY FUNNY! The evening was very chilled and I just spent my time walking around and soaking up the sights as well trying to find myself a hotel for tomorrow night. In the end I went to Gullivers, a bar at the end of Khao San and had a couple of drinks before heading back to the hotel.

This morning, we visited the Royal Palace, which was stunning (I will add some photos when I get a chance). The emerald Buddha was beautiful, but what I loved was the intricacy of the every stooper and doorway. We then visited the recling buddha, which was MASSIVE; far bigger than I ever thought possible. It was 48 meters long and 15 meters high. I couldn't belive it!

Today in the afternoon we went to MBK shopping centre and just walked around at a nice chilled pace before heading back to the room and out for dinner. Dinner was at a cool sports café again near Khao San and then drinks led us back to a club on Khao San road called Lava. I danced a bit, basically made a fool of myself and then was told it was time to leave. So here I am back at the hotel, trying to wind down before check out tomorrow. This is the last night of the tour and tomorrow morning after breakfast we all head our separate ways. It's scary in a way because it means I really am on my own from here on out, but I'm excited to have some time to myself and to travel at my own pace; see what I want to see and do what I want to do whenever I like. Must admit though....I'm gonna miss the tour guide. He is so adorable!!! ;o)

xx

Political Situation
Hi, I haven't been affected by it all in my travels and neither have the people I've met since being here. There was a problem a while back with flights to and from Phuket, but that's all fine now. Hope that puts your mind at ease. Jen
