My last lesson as Sensei Reah took place today at Tokiwa kindergarten. I felt like having a bit of a celebration so I veered off the general cariculum slightly and ended up getting them all worked up with the missing game before having a Hokey Pokey Dance off with all of my morning classes.

Because I have both morning and afternoon classes there I've grown quite fond of the school, and have realised after today that the school has grown quite fond of me too. I gave a small speech at the end of each of my classes that it was my last lesson and they have to be good for the new teacher etc and then to my shock some of my kids started to cry and cling to me. It was lovely that they like me so much, but completely dreadful to be standing there in a room full of upset 5 year olds knowing I'm the cause of their tears.

After my classes were over each class called me back in individually to sing to me and give me small presents they'd hurriedly made - flower chains, posters and books full of pictures drawn by the kids with some artistic and somewhat creative representations of myself and written in Japanese and English Thank you very Much and I Love You.

The afternoon classes were pretty much the same, which of course meant the kids were going wild. My first class, the youngest ended up just sitting on top of me giggling and trying to kiss me. My second class consisted of Rion shouting "Senseeeeeeeei" and taking a flying leap onto my back, me wiggling him off and turning around for 2 seconds before feeling tiny groping hands around my neck and Nanami entwined around me babbling Japanese in my ear, putting her back down on the floor and then feeling Ryukis small feet clambering up my spine followed by a breathy "Sensei" and a pat on the head. My oldest class were thankfully too cool for such behaviour, and although some of the class looked a bit upset, the others didn't seem to care and Sarasa actually smiled for the first time in 3 weeks (she hates me) which was good, because I'm quite an emotional person and I'm not a fan of goodbyes so it was just easier to end on a non child crying sentimental note.

Aww!
That's just so cute! In fact, I probably would have exploded from the sheer cuteness!
