Apparently I was exhausted because for the first time in several years I slept until noon. Robert and I were finally ready to leave the apartment by 3, and set out to find proper clothing to wear on a pub crawl later this evening. It's the first time on this trip I've actually allowed myself to really (REALLY) shop, and while you'd think Paris is probably not the most appropriate place to let myself off my spending leash, you'd be surprised to know that there are actually quite a lot of chic, inexpensive stores from which to choose from. Finding them is an entirely different story! After spending 3 hours looking for one of these so called stores (Note: only one we had been looking for, we actually found), I finally found a VERY small boutique right inside the subway station. I was pleasantly surprised to find that what you would normally relate to the subway, was not found here, instead I found a perfect silk top and a pair of jeans that would suit for multiple purposes.

After this however, our luck ran out. As we were walking along Rue Miromesnil in search of a consignment boutique called Fifty/Fifty, the clouds broke and started dumping rain. Literally. We were soaked through in about .5 seconds. Mind you, I was also white linen pants. Get the picture? For the next 30 minutes we ran through the streets of Paris taking refuge under overhangs wherever we could find them, and made it to the Metro station.

Upon our departure from the Metro at Avenue George V, we once again found another small boutique, this one sold purses. I purchased the perfect little black leather bag, that begs to be carried along Parisian Streets, and it only cost $30 USD!

Tired from what seemed like a full day of shopping, we made it back to the apartment and have stayed snug as a bug inside ever since. Tomorrow I have an umbrella with me!

P.S. The Eiffel Tower at night is one of the most beautiful things I've seen so far. Every hour for about 5 minutes it will start twinkling and looks like it's covered in enormous diamonds.
