We began the day with a cruise along the Rhine River from Boppard to Goer. The scenery of the German villages and castles all along the river was breathtaking.
Our next stop was the beautiful town of Heidleberg where we had time to stroll the cobblestone streets and browse the Christmas markets. Despite the cold, the students all fell in love with Heidleberg and asked the tour guide if she could leave them behind.
From there, we drove to Lucerne in Switzerland admiring the snow covered scenery along the way. We arrived to discover our guide had arranged accommodation at Hotel Flora, which is right in the centre of the city next to the historic wooden Chapel Bridge which spans the river. Lake Lucerne is very picturesque with historic buildings, Christmas lights, crystal clear water, wrought iron bridges and swans gliding along the water.
