Showing how to do it.
Huh? Teach your colleagues on making Ping Pei? You are joking right? I have only made it once before.

That was my reply when Mei Yun told me about her plan.

Nevertheless, I was interested too. Why not I make it a few more times and then go and share? Note: It is SHARE, not teach. I love trying new things but I do not think I am the opening bakery type. Too tedious.....

I bought the ingredients, made it one evening with Mei Yun's help and then gave 2 to my auntie and 2 to my mother as well as 2 to Mei Yun's HR department. The remarks from my auntie to my mother, 'tastes good, so surprised that chia lih knows how to make'. My mother, 'hmm quite good'. Remarks from Mei Yun's HR Team, 'Sure or not? The shape so nice one'.

All of them are still healthy as at today. Haha.....

The day came. I took a half day's leave to prepare the dough. Prepared three doughs - coffee flavoured, chocolate flavoured and milky vanilla flavoured. Enough for around 24 moon cakes. Next I prepare the ingredients to make another dough in

real time in front of her colleagues.

Arrived at Vitrox feeling somewhat nervous. Giving presentations is something quite natural to me but giving cooking lessons? Haha.... I admit, it's my first time. Quite a number of them turned up. A few guys turned up too to 'survey'.

I started by explaining that everyone must wash their hands. There's no baking involved. So, if their hands are dirty.... you know what will happen after eating. 'Diarhoea.....'

Then, I mix the ingredients, explain the steps etc and voila, came the dough, ready. Now, everyone's excited. Gave them the skin - 50 gm each and filling 100gm each. There were a number of fillings to choose from - TAU SA, FEI CHUI, VIOLET, CHEESE and also by Sally's request - Pineapple. In terms of skin, three types of flavour too.

Demonstrated making one mooncake and everyone said ' WOW, look so nice'. I want to try, I want to try.

Then, it became like a Market. 'I want the skin, I want the skin' 'I want the filling, I want the Filling'. 'Aiya, why my filling cannot be inside the skin? Oh dear, it is not nice. Can

Hold on, starting soon
I remake ar? Needless to say, the guys who were 'surveying' also went to wash their hands and wanted to try at making Vitrox MoonCake.

In the end, a total of 35 or 36 mooncakes were made. Some looked as though they came from restaurants, some looked 'first time'. No worries, they will taste good because it was made with HEART.

Have a great 'Chong Chiew Jie' - Mid Autumn Festival.
