so sorry i havent writte in a while, i havent had access to the internet for some time now. Not this weekend but the weekend before that the group traveled to st. petersburg. moscow and st. petersburg are like night and day, but at the same time they are alike. SP is definatly more"european" but one girl said i wante dto go to russia, if i wanted to go to europe i would have studied in france". so she made a good point. but im not gonna lie, Petergoff was amazing. eventhough the weather was rainy and really cold, it was beautiful. the fountains, the grounds, the palaces. i can only imagine what it was like when peter spent his summers there.
side note, on our bus trip to petergoff i saw a woman pushing a stroller (normal) and then walking camel! (not normal). im glad i was able to get a photo. haha
then we went to the hermitage which is really pretty too. we were only there for 2 hours, one can spend 2 days in the museums. but i was still impressed.
we also went on a boat tour along the canals, which was nice to see and the bridges, and the parks. overall i really liked st. petersburg. one weekend was not enough. so i am glad that i am going back in a few weeks to see t. tanya and visit family. that should be fun. i am really excited to meet t. olyas son and wife and daughter. i hope its not awkward.
anyhoo, the day we got back to moscow was the first day of school officially. the mayor of moscow came to give a lecture. not that i understood it all, but it wasnt exactlt what i wanted to hear at an INTERNATIONAL university. all he did was criticize america and western europe. o well. i kept my mouth shut. bless our teacher, lubov dimitrevna, she is such a sweet woman, but she made us take a picture with him. needless to say it was a little awkward for the american kids.
um lets see what else, now that "real" classes have started i actually have hw, well kinda. lol i try. it seems that my grammar class will be the hardest. ive come to the conclusion that my russian is not very good at all. i struggle, but Natalia Borisovna is really sweet and helps me with my hw. shes really sweet. she made apple pirog yesterday. it was delicious 😊
shot shot.<3

back to school quickly, i love my literature class. the readings are alright but the teacher andrei d...something(?). is sooo cool, or shall i super thats what ppl say in russian. but with a thick russian accent. he teaches all these life lessons and stuff, and he has cool stories. i mean he told us about a salt crisis lol. ill go into more detail when i have more time.
and back to Natalia borisovna, she is going on vacation to the sea on friday so im gonna be living alone for 2 weeks. hopefully ill survive. i dont think i mentioned my issues with the gas stove haha. u have turn the gas on and then light with a lighter or a match. needless to say i do it with great difficulty. so its possible for the next 2 weeks i will only bake haha. i dunno.

um lets see....
anyhoo, this weekend jaime and i might go to nizhny novgorod, so that should be exciting. ill try to write more later. i know this isnt too detailed but i hope it gives u all (if anyone actually reads this) some kind of glimse into what i do hear in moscow. i miss u all love ya xoxo

ps. the weather here is crazy on monday morning at 6am there was a crazy thunder and lightening storm. i didnt think i was gonna go to school, but it cleared up. tootles

re:
You might have heard the fact saying that if you were to spent a minute looking at each exhibit in the Hermitage, you would need 11 years to see them all...... P.S. If you need to strike a match for the top of the stove, before you decide to bake anything, be sure the oven doesn't operate the same way...
