Departure day.

After a very tiring 16 hours of flying we have arrived in Dubai the first stop of our adventure. Brianna and Sophie were fantastic. For the first leg of the journey between Brisbane and Singapore they watched movies and as expected Sophie fell asleep about 1 hour out of Singapore and wasn't impressed about being woken up and having to get off the plane. The leg between Singapore and Abu Dhabi saw us all asleep.

We arrived at Abu Dhabi airport at about midnight local time (6am our time). We had cleared customs, grabbed our luggage, and was on the bus to Dubai within 20mins (this also included a toilet stop at the airport, were Brianna was fascinated with the prayer room in the bathroom. We had a lenghthy discussion about why all the men wear dresses, and the women cover up the faces, and why the men cover their hair with a tea towel which is held in place with rope. Brianna came to the conclusion that the men cover their hair because they dont ever get it cut).

We finally got to our motel at about 2am, where we all went back to sleep to try to stay in sync with local time.

All in all the first day went really well and the kids were great.
